A fantastic walk when in need of some West coast magic. Very rocky so wear sturdy shoes. There is a heck of a drop off at the waters edge and a strong undertow so keep pets and young children close.

Great views, but not really a beach. Mostly rock, not much sand. If you want to watch the tide come in, or the sunset, it's good. I would recommend China Beach .. about 15 km further up the road. Beach is much nicer. The walk...More

It's a great park for a picnic and for the kids. There is a big grassy area on the beach for playing. The coast is lovely, of course. It's a pebble beach - not really a swimming beach.

This place is worth the drive! Beautiful rain forest with cathedral high trees, lush flora and rugged beach line. We sighted many seals and sea lions. I only wish we had taken a picnic because it was a perfect setting.

Plenty of waves, beautiful rocks and driftwood on this typical west coast beach. The part that borders this beach has fire pits and benches which are great for picnics. There is an easy access path from the parking lot to the bordering park area. Bring...More

Fabulous beach. Water is rolling in... a little rocky but well worth the trip. No swimming here. Too cold. But a great place to explore!

It was a cool day so we were the only people there - we dipped our feet in the water and it was super cold. Great location for family walk and picnic.

Often a rainy spot, sometimes you luck out and it's sunny. The beach is beautiful to look at but not good for swimming. Cell phone service non-existent unless you drive down the road a bit. Great getaway place.

This is an easy beach to get to and it is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is rocky, but easy to walk. The surf was rolling in when we were there anti was incredible. You can access this beach from a very short, wheelchair accessible road....More

Like all BC Park beaches, French Beach is a beautiful spot but I really do think it's time for BC Parks to step up and at least add some showers and flush toilets in the campground! It's a beach park in the Northwest Pacific! There's...More

It would depend on the time of year. Pretty before sunset in the summer.
