I’ve been to many National Historic Sites and this one was ‘just okay.’ The staff seemed a little distant. The fort is cool to see, but the views were disappointing. The exhibits explaining the history were not overly engaging. We waited around Lévis until the site opened before beginning a long day of travel, but it didn’t have a lot of ‘wow’ factor. I would say visit if you have lots of time, but don’t plan your day around it.

This is such an interesting slice of history, that everyone in the family can leave with something to dwell on when visiting this amazing structure. Give yourself a couple of hours to visit and take advantage of the knowledgeable Parks Canada guides that are all to willing to enhance your experience stepping back in time.

It’s a fun place to learn Canadian history with kids. If you have a day , staying in Quebec City, the drive from old town is not that far. The u deerhound museum is very nice

This was the 3rd fort we visited on our travels through Canada. What is interesting about this fort was that it has a different shape and has a very detailed set of cassmates though the walls of the fort and a very large and heavy cannon at the top. The kids love the costumes they got to wear as they completed various explorer tasks. It really makes the fort and the history of the fort come alive, for them, and for us. In addition to exploring the fort, there is also a small museum inside that explains the construction of and uses of the fort.

The Fort was very nice, and in a good overall condition. The exhibition about the Canadian history, including the war against the US was very informative and detailed.

The view was very nice to the surrounding area.

It was a bit hard to find the parking lot, so use a GPS or a map.

Pay for the tour - it makes it so much more interesting to hear the history for the fort. Tours available in French or English.

Fort is in good shape. Exposition is dated and mostly consist of explanation board. No artefacts. Guided tour was nice. Plan for 1.5 hour max.

One of the first forts built using cement and related techniques. Lots of info is provided to bring us back to the 1850s and the challenges that were met with new technology,

Came with my language school group. The guided tour was informative, especially the powder room and the gun "windows". Did not have time to go through the exhibition/ museum section. There was construction in the yard.

Build by the English army, these amazing for the time, these best-kept secrets in towns was to protect Quebec city from the invasion of the newborn USA country. English locked doors for their footprint in North-America.
