This was a gem of an attraction. Who knew this little town was home to the founder of the renowned Canadian financial cooperative institution? Well, I know now! Our guide was so knowledgeable and personable. This is a terrific small museum.

We took the ferry across to Levis to see the river. Found this free museum and decided to go. The staff was extremely friendly. Very apologetic that they did not have an English speaking tour guide. But it was no problem; I enjoyed listening to...More

My friend and I came across this museum by accident while wandering around the town. Our guide (Denise) was extremely knowledgable and had an obvious empathy with the family and its ethos. Apart from that she had a great sense of humour and our tour...More

As a teacher, I like to visit museums, large or small. I really appreciated my visit as we got a personal tour of the house. Inscriptions on the walls in chronological order explain the Desjardins family's history. There are also pictures, books and other historical...More

Discovered this using trip advisor. It was a very interesting tour given by Patrick into the history of Desjardins which were the first credit union in North America.

This is an amazing experience. So much to learn and history filled with facts and information. Although it's a small museum, it's still a educational and informative museum. Seeing the house where all transactions took place was very cool. Worth a look if you're in...More

I gave 5 star because I think it is worthy going there to hear about Alphonese Desjardins' unselfish story. He founded the credit unions back to his area. This house in modern eyes is not fency, but was a wealthy and high-class house in its...More

This a small museum/house, but extremely well done. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and truly passionate about the history of the Desjardins family. She was actually animated enough to keep our 7 y.o. engaged for the approximately one hour tour. The museum is about...More
