Everyone eared the word Meech lake but have you ever been there? No, we’ll go.
Just for the ride or park and walk, or bbq but just few places.
The road on the side of the lake is ultimately a dead end so you should not have too much traffic. Few very nice cottages, well really some very nice home.
No speed there but a Nice curvy road.

There are two Meech Lakes. The public beach where most people go to swim and sunbathe, and the nudist one that is quite a hike up and down hills into the back woods surrounding the public beach. At the nudist beach (clothing optional) there is a waterfall, sunbathing rocks, and an old Millhouse from the mid-1800s.

This beach is very local to the area and yet not overly busy, there are lifeguards on duty, one toilet and tables available. Although it's buoyed off for swimmers one can go outside of the buoy and swim indefinitely into Meech Lake which is why it's a great place to be! The water is crisp, clean and clear. There are rocks to climb or jump from to the right, a short swim up. I recommened this for avid, strong swimmers who cannot tolerate a guarded beach. This one is about 20 minutes from Ottawa downtown. So close to the cute village of Chelsea, well worthwhile. Be prepared to pay for parking. Opens late June every year.

Good sized lake with nice views around it. Depending on spot you stand - you could get a good sunset view.
Great to go and check out fall colours or plan a picnic at.

Beautiful park and well set up for family pique-niques and a nice lake for swimming. Very popular park in the Gatineau region.

This is a great hiking spot. You can walk around the lake and also visit a mica mine there. It is easily accessible for kids.

Good hiking and the water is pristine. One of the only places I feel safe enough to swim in. Bring money for parking.

Don't just stick to the road side of the lake, park at O'Brian and walk into the park along the trail that leads away from the lake. It eventuall brings you close to the lake so don"t worry. Walk along the edge until you find a bit that suits you. Beware of the naked bathers however, they tend to be around the old mill.

There is an eleven mile loop trail that starts off the O'Brien parking lot. A piece is alongside the Trans Canada trail 36. A short hike to the Wilson Carbide Ruins which I took several videos and images. The majority of the hike is shaded by a variety of trees. Many are deciduous with brilliant jewel colors in the Fall. Bring water, wear good shoes, you won't get lost but don't feed Yogi bear.

It's not far from Ottawa or Gatineau - about half an hour of driving. It's well worth the drive for the spectacular natural beauty.
