We had our daughter's 12th birthday party at Clip n Climb and she had a great time. She had 1hr 15 mins of climbing (all supervised by staff) and then 45 minutes in a party room. There is a separate area for kids' climbing (only kids) and they limit the numbers so very little lining up. We used the party room after for pizza and cake. Definitely recommend.

This was the highlight of our trip to Ottawa. The kids had a blast. They enjoyed it so much the first time we went back to do it again 2 days later. This is the best rock climbing experience I've had with the kids. No need to have an adult hanging on to rope at the bottom. There is a short explanation on how it works at the begining. Then everyone gets their harness checked and off you go. You pick the wall you want to climb. Wave your arms so you get checked to make sure your clipped on right. They come to check right away. Almost no waiting and up you go. They have easier walls and more difficult ones. The sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes. They have 3 attractions that you have to pay extra for. A Large wall slide, a trapeze and a leap of faith. The wall slide was the best.

We would do this again if we are back in Ottawa.

A friend took me to Altitude Gym as my first experience in bouldering.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by the size and varied structures available. There were lots of different climbing routes available throughout the building, including a bouldering setup outside as well.

There was plenty that was challenging to me (a first timer!) as well as lots of advanced stuff in addition to bouldering (auto-belay and other setups).

I look forward to coming back!

The facility is attractive, in an old converted church, stunning. But location is not everything. It may be the case in real estate but not when you're running a business. The face of your business says a lot about the people running it and how much they are serious about customer service. For these reasons, you carefully pick your staff to make a lasting impression, the positive kind! Not only did my son did not enjoy the camp due to mismatch of levels (can't blame the camp for this) but much of this negative experience was attributed to the staff, unengaging, disconnected, and rude. When my own son notices the disinterested tone and rudeness of the first face we saw, who was taking attendence, that speaks volumes about management and the organization itself. Staff needs some serious training and/or the hiring manager needs to carefully screen and check references of potential hires. The camp was not worth the time and trouble. Hope the one in Kanata does things differently and have staff that are representative and willing to make the effort for a positive.experience, especially for our kids!

Loved this place. Kids and adults had a lot of fun. The Clip 'n Climb is fantastic - very unique and a great way for kids to get introduced to rock climbing.

Loved, loved, loved this place! I can't speak for the official rock climbing part of the gym as we only visited the Clip 'n Climb part of it.

Free parking and friendly staff are a bonus.

Our kids are 8 and 6 so we all made reservations at the Clip 'n Climb. Turns out, the adults can just supervise but my husband and I paid to climb as well and are very glad we did. I highly recommend buying 2 hours when you reserve (second hour is half price) as an hour would not have been enough. They seem to book just the right amount of people as it felt busy, but there was always something available to climb and if there was a line-up, you could just go climb something else and come back. We paid extra for the slide and leap of faith and it was worth it. The facility is very clean, the instructions were very clear and available in English and French and it felt very safe.

Overall, a great family activity and we can't wait to go back!

I took my son and a bunch of his friends, his two younger siblings (5 & 8), and an older brother (20) to the Clip-n-Climb (i.e. not the bouldering/rock-climbing part). We all had a blast! Even the one guy who was afraid of heights!

Tip one: make sure the parents of the kids in your party have signed and fully filled out the release form *before* you get there

Tip two: be early, but not too early. It was a bit of a mad house at the front desk. But they're very strict on the times for starting

Tip three: there are two special attractions that you have to pay extra for: $4 for one, $7 for both. Actually you buy your tickets and can use them for either. I bought 1 ticket for each of us. That worked pretty well. Some kids had been there before so it was nice for them. If it's your first time, one is probably enough.

tip four: they are strict about entrance times and exit times. However, if you save your ticket until the end, they'll just take your harness and still let you do the special attraction. You can get a few minutes of bonus time that way!

There are no lockers. However, I just hid my bag behind one of the climbing walls. It was completely out of sight and, well, not totally safe but good enough

As for the ages, my 5yr old was limited in what he could do. The 8 yr old could do many of the climbs, the 12yr old just about all of them.

Tip six: take a camera.

Tip seven (this is for the older crowd): trust the belay. They really do work. Test it if you want by jumping off when you're not too high up...but it takes a few feet of free fall before it kicks in, so if you jump off the wall at 5' up, it won't have time to catch you...try it a 10 feet (or 30 :-)

The staff are francophone, but switch to English fluently. No problems there.

The instruction you get before entering the gym is excellent. And, you're inspected before you go in too. They have someone check you before each climb.

Tip eight: the littler kids sometimes get overlooked by the staff so you need to help them wave down a staffer so they can get checked before they climb

I am a regular at this gym, and choose to review for travellers visiting the National Capital Region or new residents. If you are Ottawa/Gatineau, and you want a good climb head on over to Altitude. The top rope routes are great and changed on a regular basis. I don't boulder but I always see a variety of boulder problems for climbers to tackle.

The Clip n' Climb is absolutely amazing! Even for Adults, this is not just for kids! But this is a great place to take the little ones to release some pent up energy. I tend to refer to it as playing Human Nintendo.

The entire gym is clean and well kept.

My climbing partner and I migrated to Altitude early on in at the start of our new favourite activity and what we found the most pleasurable about Altitude was the welcoming envrionment, as it can be intimidating to start a new sport. The staff and the clients at Altitude are nothing but helpful and friendly. The staff are there to make your visit pleasent and safe. If you're stuck on a problem, don't be shy to ask a staff member as they walk by for their expertise; they are always willing to help.

Whether you are new to the Nation's Capital or just visiting, if you want to climb or try soemthing new either the sport its self or the Clip n' Climb check out Altitude!

We went over the Christmas holidays as an indoor, cold winter's day group activity. We were 7 (3 adults, 4 kids ages 5-11); booked ahead of time for the Clip ‘n Climb which is a separate area in Altitude Gym. This is not the traditional rock climbing, but more of a fun wall climbing activity. There were lots of people, but we were able to go on all the walls we wanted with little waiting. Safety briefing was done well in both English and French. The hour long session was a good length of time. The adults in our group all climbed as well as the kids; I did see some other adults who were bystanders only. Great activity for everyone and we’ll go back again for sure. Don’t forget to print and fill-in the waiver before you go, and indoor/running shoes.
