First time cat skiing and it was very nice to access parts of the mountain in the Fernie area only by using a cat.

The scenery was magnificent, however, I found the terrain to be borderline for my skill level, which I rate at a strong intermediate level, which FWA states is the minimum required to enjoy the day, which I disagree with.

I would suggest that a person should be an expert skier at a minimum to enjoy the day.

We started out our day on what I considered to be two very difficult runs. I would have preferred to have started with more open runs, i.e. less trees, with a shallower descent in order to warm up and get use to using FWA's powder skis (which FWA suggests that you do)

After the first two runs, I thought that I might be over my head, however, runs 3,4,5,6 and 7 were better but still with had lots of trees.

We finished the day with runs 8 and 9, which were extremely difficult again.

Riding the cat was fun, the staff at FWA were very professional and helpful and the scenery was exceptional.

However, I believe that you should be an expert skier at a minimum and be prepared to ski amongst a lot of trees.

Snow conditions weren't the best, however, we can't control what mother nature gives us.

Spent the day fly fishing the Elk river and have to say it is in my top 3 fishing trips.

Linden my guide was excellent and had me on fish all day long. If you book request Linden and you won’t be disappointed.

We took 4 families that have kids (12+) and the guides are amazing. If your kid can drop steep pow lines this is the place!

We had 2 boats out for a guided float on the Elk River. Lyndon and Hutch were absolutely great!! Patient, knowledgeable, great tips for the novice flyfisher woman. We felt like we were in great hands all day and had a magnificent day out on the water. We have used this company everytime we go out and we are never disappointed.

We had an awesome day with Josh and Brian. We are all fairly average skiers but Brian managed to find us some excellent terrain which challanged us without putting any of us in an uncomfortable situation. It was just a fantastic day and I can't thank them enough.

My husband and I had a perfect day at FWA. First the staff is so great, from the receptionist to the guides, everybody was so nice, professional and helpful. As an east coast skier, catskiing has been a great physical and mental challenge for me and I just loved it. My husband is a snowboarder and he enjoyed every minute of this epic day in powder snow!!

We spent two days with FWA cat skiing. The guides were super helpful and worked to make sure everyone had a great experience. We always found unskied areas. The cat provides a heated area to rest on the way up. Plenty of food, snacks and water were available. It’s about 40 percent the cost of heli, and fog won’t hold you back for the day. Highly recommend a day of cat skiing or two and a day or two at the nearby resort. Fernie is a great town if you have not been there. And, cat skiing is a great way to make 12 new friends from all over the world. If you love fresh tracks, this is a must.
