Given that we toured it in September after many of the flowers were well past their best-before date, it was a pleasant tour, especially as there were so few people there. The sculptures and water areas are impressive. I was disappointed that the restaurant was not open as I had planned the visit to include lunch.

Nice garden with different themed sections. Great colours and smells. Kids liked the walk and enjoyed the view. Not the most extravagant botanical garden, but after a long road it was a plesent activity to do.

We drove to Edmundston specifically to visit this garden and it was well worth the drive. We visited the last full week in August and were rewarded with beautiful displays of daylilies and phlox. Some plants had already been cut back though, so earlier in August might be a better time to visit. Also noteworthy to this garden was the high number of labeled plants. I find it frustrating when I see a plant I'd love to try but have no idea what it is. Here, most plants were labelled, even the varieties of daylilies.
Arriving at the garden was fun as we passed some creative topiaries. My favorite was a man portaging a canoe on his back! The annual beds surrounding the stately entry were unlike any I'd seen elsewhere. They were comprised of edible plants! Kales, chards, basils, parsley, peppers and more adorned the beds. There were cherry tomatoes that were ripe and delicious!
Our first stop was the butterfly house. There were three different types of butterflies that I saw, with most being blue morphos. The plants included were beautiful; my favorites were the maidenhair fern and a tropical plant I was told was duranta. We then went into the gardens viewing the perennial, shade, broadleaf and roaring brook gardens. There were lots of nice paths and water features. The phlox display was amazing!
After a lunch at Cafe Flora (highly recommended), we stopped into the herbarium and enjoyed a digestive tea. The herbalist working was very informative and engaging. After, we had the fortune of seeing one of the staff members in the herb garden building an insect house. She happily dealt with all our questions and explained its function.
The edible garden was impressive, with its densely planted raised beds and grow bags along with its chicken coop. Other sections Included the heath garden with its beautiful colors, the rocky alpine garden and the rose garden. There were several sculptures throughout.
The most unique feature of the garden is the Khronos, a celestial garden. It's a Stonehenge that definitely inspires conversation! We took a break on one of the benches beside it and contemplated its meaning!
Any staff member we happened upon was friendly. One woman who was weeding was particularly helpful, telling us about different plants. All in all, we spent about five hours here including our lunch hour. You could see the gardens more quickly but it was a gorgeous sunny day and we were in a special spot! So we took our time and enjoyed the beautiful setting.

This is an excellent botanical garden. We have visited it several times. A lot of care has been been put into it. We greatly enjoyed our stroll through the gardens. However I wish I could say the same for our visit to the Cafe. At first glance the restaurant is good. The setting is pretty. The menu looks good. However the service leaves much to be desired. We arrived at a busy time for the staff so we decided to explore the gardens instead of waiting to be seated. We returned about an hour later. By then only a few tables were occupied. I waited to be seated as requested by the sign at the door. After some time one of the four servers approached and said I could choose a seat. I checked the patio but the unoccupied tables were covered with dirty dishes. So I sat inside. I had ample time to read the dessert and drink menu. Meanwhile all 4 servers were behind the counter. When my husband joined me we again waited. Finally my husband approached the counter and asked for menus. Again we had ample time to read and reread the menu. Then the server who had greeted me 10 or 15 minutes before led two customers to a nearby table, seated them and handed them menus. Then she walked away completely ignoring us. At this point two servers were now eating at the counter. The other two were unoccupied. We were the only other customers in the restaurant. I realized that for some reason we would not be served so we left. I asked on the way out if the service was always so bad and gave the details given here. This was a very unpleasant end to what had been a very pleasant visit until we decided to eat.

One might visit here to see the beauty of the grounds but there is so much more to this place than the flowers. Please take time to eat at the Café as it is just delightful! Also, the new Butterfly Garden is so cool.

These were lovely gardens, with neat 3D sculptures made out of plants. If you are a photographer or gardener, you'll love it, but I'm not sure how interesting it would be for non-gardeners or families, especially for the $14 admission, which I thought a bit steep.

This was my second visit, the last one being 4 years ago. I remember the gardens being full of color, multiple topiaries, and beautiful collections. This year I was very disappointed. In fairness I believe the gardens were suffering from extreme heat and very dry conditions. Many of the hanging baskets needed water and many of the bedding plants looks droopy in the hot afternoon sun. Big mystery was the disappearance of the all the chickens. Apparently no one knows what happened to them!

I know you don't usually go to a Botanical Garden for the food but you must try their café for lunch!!! It's just amazing and so beautiful on the patio with the view of the garden!

This was my second trip here, and it was worth the return. There are over a dozen different gardens, plus the displays outside the wall. It is well laid out and the gardens are colorful and well maintained.

We stayed here for one night (thankfully only one night) in early June. The bed was a solid rock and horrible to sleep on - and this is coming from someone who had camped (in a tent...on the ground) the past two weeks across the maritime provinces. We actually had to dig out or sleeping foams and place them on bed they were that hard. The towels were not clean (we used our own) and the shower was disgusting. This motel requires a serious upgrade!

What are the hours of operation and what are the restaurant hours and price range. When does the garden close for the winter?
