This is a great place to see the wonderful history of St Thomas and it's railways there are lots of thins to see and do an amazing collection of trains and cars in great condition or being refurbished. Right now the roof on this amazing building is in need of repair and somewhat curtails the viewing of the cars and... More

Great place with lots of potential once they get all their funding in place and the whole museum open. Volunteers do a wonderful job. Love their little model train layout but needs an update after these many years.

I went to the museum years ago when I was a kid and loved every second of it. It's always a kids dream to drive a big caboose and going to the museum really made the whole situation a whole lot more interesting. They have a huge variety of old antiques in there. I recently attended my sisters grad which... More

I have not had a chance to visit the Railway museum yet ! But every time I go by it it seems like it is calling me to come in! It looks well kept and I know there will be stories of times gone by that will be interesting. I will set a time this summer to visit this museum!

What an exciting railroad town St. Thomas must have been at the turn of the 20th century. Domestic and International rail lines passing through it from east to west, trunk lines operating north to south, steam locomotives, electric powered rail vehicles, 2 large "round houses" capable of sheltering and servicing 48 locomotives at one time and a unique railroad control... For all train lovers this is a must visit! I love the history and the memories that are here. I was raised in this city and I miss the comings and goings of the different Railways that came through here. My late husband, Eugene (Gene) Dell started as a Fireman on the old 5700. Wonderful memories for me.

The volunteer tour guides were so helpful and informative. The Wall of Fame is such a unique and personalized idea. A true asset to St Thomas, On.

This was our second stop on our St Thomas day trip adventure. Surprisingly this museum was very cool and interesting, first off if you are expecting fancy gadgets, modern displays and lots of trains to climb aboard on then this isn't for you. Don't get me wrong the museum is well a museum, but funding is in desperate need and... More

A volunteer toured us around the cavernous locomotive shop, taking us aboard a caboose and into a impressive CNR Hudson locomotive. He was knowledgeable and good with our questions. There is also a nice model train set-up that goes around landmarks of Elgin County. This kind of museum is interesting - it's not slick and it relies on volunteers and... More
