We did the Gatineau 3 day and had a blast! Guides were amazing, food was excellent and rapids were awesome. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate to have 13 friends experience the trip of a lifetime on the Magpie River with Boreal River Adventures. All our guides, Ty, Meli, Colin, Max and Raph, were superstars, professional, thoughtful, encouraging (and even musical), what a joy to spend time with them all on such a beautiful river. The river was spectacular with challenging rapids, beautiful scenery and brookies to keep our rods active. Thanks so much for such a wild ride!

What a great experience on the beautiful Magpie River in Quebec with the terrific guides from Boreal River. Trip lead Ty and the team were awesome from the start, getting us equipped, gauging what we were up for as a group and making sure we had the space and time to relax after lots of big water. Healthy food and good times around the campfire - just what I needed this summer!

I had the opportunity to participate in an Ottawa River kayak rafting adventure this September. Very new to whitewater, I was a bit nervous, but those fears were squashed when I arrived. The team was so well prepared, knowledgeable, and friendly. We learned about how to read the river, got to practice different swimming and rafting techniques, and play on the rapids. I had an amazing time, and will definitely look to book another adventure with them in the future. Highly recommend!

Thrills and relaxation, gourmet meals and breathe taking scenery. Oh, and a very cool helicopter ride! This vacation was so amazing, I hardly know where to start. It was a truly exceptional opportunity to spend quality time connecting with eachother, with our 10 year old twin boys and with nature. With meals prepared for us that were on par with the best restaurants, and all the logistics and safety considerations taken care of, we were able to relax and rejuvenate. The rapids were spectacular, the fishing fantastic, the blueberries plentiful, and the pace of the trip was such that we could enjoy it all. There was even time for learning, with the ecologist teaching us about wild edibles and helping my son to dissect the trout he had caught in order to identify the bugs it had eaten (an optional activity of course!). A huge thank you to Danny and his team of awesome guides for helping us to create memories that will last a lifetime.

I went on this trip as I already did some kayaking on flat water and love the outdoors. I only had one day experience on whitewater in Costa Rica. I was absolutely fearful not knowing what to expect. Danny and his team put me at ease within the first few days. Their attention to safety was outstanding. Their team included people trained in teaching white water rescue, a cultural interpreter and an ecologist among others. The beauty of the river and the surrounding nature is breathtaking. Every aspect of the trip is meticulously planned. Enjoy the adventure while being pampered - every meal is gourmet beautifully presented on a table with a tablecloth in the wilderness breathtaking setting. Trip of a lifetime.

If you are reading this review, you are probably looking into this adventure or a similar one. YOU FOUND IT! Stop searching and book this trip now!
I can not say enough good things about Danny and his team. The river is amazing and the guides are even better. Whether you are an expert on white water or completely inexperienced, you will enjoy this trip. Our group was well diversified in age and experience level and Boreal still found a way to accommodate all of us. As long as you enjoy water and being outdoors, this trip is for you.
After a beautiful day on the water, sit back and relax by the river as your guides prepare amazing meals.

Our whitewater paddling group has been going on an annual canoe/raft trip for the past 30 years and have paddled many classic rivers throughout Canada. We all agreed that our trip on the Magpie River with Boreal River Adventures has to be rated as our favourite. It had everything you want in a wilderness river experience: exciting whitewater, great campsites, and incredible scenery that combined to make it an unforgettable adventure. This will always be a highlight of our paddling adventure.

Travelling the Magpie River with Boreal River Adventures was the trip of a lifetime for me. I’ve been white water rafting but have never before experienced a week of interrupted rafting through such pristine Canadian wilderness. Each day was different with consistently thrilling sets of rapids. There was never a dull moment between our initial flight in over the northern Quebec landscape to the final moments of the trip when we came out on the tip of the Atlantic Ocean.
The option to switch between the group raft, inflatable pack rafts and stand up paddle boards throughout the trip was a nice touch. I had total confidence in Danny and his team when running the river. They are all highly professional and experienced. The entire team was down to Earth and a pleasure to hang out with at night around the campfire. All of the guides on our trip happened to be fantastic cooks as well. I didn’t expect to eat such great and varied meals on the trip. I particularly loved the fresh trout they caught and served up (the fishing is incredible along the Magpie).
I only have great things to say about the trip and the team. The Magpie River was the ultimate Canadian adventure!
