Nice presentation but the real gem was the helpful and knowledgeable staff. They were able to find and photo copy information about my great grandparents farm as well as cemetery locations. Great information!

Went at the end of June , I hadn't been to our museum in years!
I love history and I found a lot of history about our region! I really enjoyed the photos about how names of places were named and who was who! The furs of different animals was cool! Very interesting stuff!
You should definatly go!

We spent sometime in this small but very interesting museum. So much history held in a small museum. Curator was very informative and friendly. Worth the trip!

Lots of information on local history and friendly staff who provide information. I learned more about the Indigenous history of the area.

It may be the smallest Museum we ever been in but it covers all traditions in and around peace rive. the guide was very accommodating in explaining exhibits to us and was very knowledgeable. although my wife grew up in Peace River the tour of the museum did display many things she had forgotten and many that she remembered.
What a treat.

We were returning from an extensive trip to the Yukon and the Northwest Territories during which we investigated details of my husband's great-uncle's Klondike adventures from the 1890's. Part of his research meant that we had to stop at Peace River and visit this location to see if he could gather any more information. We arrived on Labor Day and were thrilled that it was open and there was a very helpful young woman on hand who was very knowledgeable about the area. My husband was able to leave his contact information and she helpfully offered to get in touch with museum staff at other locations to gather information for him. In addition, she gave him the contact info for their archivist so he can make contact and see if there is any additional information to be had. The displays they have on hand are very well done and the small gift shop offers some unusual books, in particular one regarding the residential school history. It is a required textbook in schools. We made sure to buy a copy to learn more about this part of Canada's history. The museum is in a lovely location and is a very worthwhile stop.

This was my first trip to peace River to take family artefacts to the museum. My mother and her parents homesteaded In Peace River and I took many articles to the museum.

They are absolutely wonderful people and extremely knowledgeable of the area. I even got a terrific tour.
This is definitely a bucket list item. It is set in an idyllic spot that lends itself to a blast from the past.

For in town folks and those not from the area, don't miss the opportunity to take on this piece of history.

Love, love it and all who are there to show you the way.

This was a very interesting museum with lots of history relating to explorer A. Mackenzie. The young woman at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. There is also an archivist/curator on site.

We went to visit with my brother in law, who had been on the board. We had with us a cousin from England. The museum was actually closing when we got there, as a new exhibit about Residential Schools was being brought in. We were allowed in, and with permission, were able to attend a smudging ceremony that was very moving. they also have some interesting exhibits.
