We just returned from a 5 day paddling trip to the Cathcarts with White Squall. Amazing from start to finish. Highly competent and fun guides (Marlene and Paula), excellent equipment (ok, those Thermarest sleeping pads weren't all that comfortable on the rocks!), gorgeous scenery, wonderful group of people, great meals. We aren't the most experienced paddlers, but we always felt safe and supported by the guides and the rest of the group. We had never been to Georgian Bay and we plan to return again and again. We are already planning another White Squall trip. Thank you, thank you!

We comprised of older adults with some ability issues. We took the beginner lesson and I can't begin to tell you how great Ethan and Julie were that day. Patience in abundance; Supportive & comforting encouragement; Strength and agility in helping when people tipped. There were three of us in our group that tipped that morning and I was one of them. I only wish I had brought our own life jackets as it would have been better fit. Highly recommend! Teachers are well trained.

After paddling our own kayaks for several years, we decided to find out how to do this more competently. We took the beginner course in the morning and the rescue course in the afternoon. Well, we thought that we knew something about kayaking, but the wonderful staff really taught us a lot of tips to help us out. As for the resuce course, although I was intimidated at first, our instructor Hannah made me feel confident that I could do this. By the end of the day, I did feel confident and wished that I had come to White Squall years earlier. With the experience of using their kayaks (and we were encouraged to try out any kayak/paddle that we wished), I also learned that I was much more confortable in a shallower, narrower kayak. The wonderful, knowledgable staff answered all of our questions, allowed us to "test drive" and in the end, we were very happy with our new puchases. Many thanks to White Squall for your very friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable staff!

We had a remarkable day paddling with our two guides. We started at the centre and they went over safety protocols, etc. They set us up with pfd's and paddling jackets as it was a grey/drizzly day. There were 8 of us and we were all in tandem kayaks. The guides were in single kayaks and stayed interspersed with us. We ventured forth from Snug Harbour and wove in and around islands. We stopped for a shore lunch and they set up a type of tent canopy with kayak paddles just in time to shelter us from a down pour. Even though we provided our own lunches they surprised us with brownies and hot tea! The youngest fella got a chill and they provided him with a spare fleece. Even though it was overcast and drizzling the paddling was wonderful. They assured us that had it been bright and sunny it would have gotten too hot to cover the distance that we did. Very enjoyable excursion and highly recommend this outfitter!
