    Amazing awesome place!
Great views and chillaxing provincial park! Soaking in all the wilderness has to offer. Lots of things to do and see! This park gets really busy during summer! Allouette Lake is accessible if you want to explore the area and maximize your visit.

    Fun with tired legs afterwards
The North Parking lot and the road up to it is closed due to rain damage to the road. Park along the side of the road and walk in. Go earlier in the day as I find when I leave around noonish, I pass by many people, kids, dogs coming in. A good hike in. Younger people would say it is a nice walk 😄 I will go back in the summer.

A moderate challenging hike with nice scenery
We hiked the Lower Falls Trail and East Canyon Trail, totaling 10.7km with an elevation gain of 295m, taking 2 hours and 28 minutes . The overall route was relatively flat, but some sections had cobblestone paths, which were a bit tough on the feet. The Lower Falls Trail was easy to walk, with no difficulty at all. After reaching the waterfall, you can return the same way. The water at the waterfall was quite clear. Along the way, we saw a school taking children out for an autumn outing (seems like schools here often have outdoor activities on Fridays, they looked very happy). It only took us 30-40 minutes to reach the waterfall, and we felt it was too short, so we decided to climb up to the East Canyon Trail . The climbing section was the hardest part of the whole journey, requiring the use of hands and feet. Along the way, there were colored ribbons tied to trees indicating directions. The East Canyon Trail had a slight incline, overall relatively gentle, but with quite a lot of cobblestone paths. The park was quite humid, with small streams often flowing over the trail, making it damp. Along the way, you'll pass a small bridge with excellent scenery.

In the woods close to Vancouver
In the forest right outside of Maple Ridge BC. Lots if trees. Walking paths, lake, clean well places tv sites. Washroom needs updating or better cleaning but good otherwise. Not many camping in September but quiet we liked that. Is in the flight path of airport. We’d go back again. Hard to get wood. The trucks kept passing our site and others for fire pit.

I'm a senior with mobility issues, so want to let others know of my experience.
This was our first time at Golden Ears and were very excited to be so close to such a beautiful lake. We read over the BC Parks description of each the campsite and decided that we wanted a site along Gold Creek and close to the lake so we book North Beach Campground. The campsite diagram gave us the impression that we would have easy access to the creek and the lake.
When we arrived we discovered that we were indeed along the creek, but 200 feet above it (with a very steep drop/hill) with no access to the creek from our site. Also, we found the road to the lake at the top of a very steep hill which we did venture down. Unfortunately, I had knee problems for the next two days and the walk back up the hill was quite difficult.
Additional, there is no drinking water available at this campground and you need to drive over to a different campground to get it.
The area is beautiful, and we did enjoy our afternoon at the Day Use beach, but I wish the website would have mentioned these things so we could have booked and planned accordingly.

The setting is beautiful of course. The campground is well patrolled by the park managers. However the potholes in the road to the campground and around the campground at Gold Creek are up to 12 inches deep. The access to the beach from the campground is good except for the last bit at the beach. It is loose, sandy gravel on a steep slope. It is hard for those with mobility issues to get to the beach. The trail around the campgrounds are in need of some work too.Washrooms were clean.

We hike the many trails, but bikes and horses also have a venue.
All levels of fitness are welcome, from level lakeside and riverside, to gruelling mountain ascents.
We also kayak on Alouette Lake, mind the wind though!

This part of the world is absolutely beautiful and this campsite has a lot of great scenery. A great place to go if you’d like to get away from the city and submerge right into the wilderness. There is no cell reception so it is also a great place to go for a technology cleanse. I am only leaving 3/5 stars because I did not find the staff helpful or understanding, and the layout of the campsite was not easy to navigate; For example, I could not find the showers (only the toilets) and I got lost on my way back from the beach.

This is a beautiful park with many spots to visit on a day trip as well as camping. We did a day trip and hiked up to the falls. Very long hike through the forest which was beautiful. Lots of places to stop along the way to take photos. Slight incline so wear good shoes. Really nice beach area along this trail. Parking is challenging so come early.

My wife and I camped (tent) overnight at the North Alouette campground, site D16. This park has 4 seperate front country campgrounds and we stayed in the largest of them. Though the sites are well seperated and private, the weekend that we stayed was full of kids and revellers so it was quite noisy. Perfect if you have kids and/or are alright with staying up fairly late. If not, weekdays might be preferrable as they will not be so busy at that time. We drove through the other campgrounds and they do not have the capacity for as many people so would likely be more quiet. Also, The Alouette campgrounds are the ones that have the Alouette beach access connected to them so this attracts a different crowd than other campgrounds might. This being said, the beach and lake are amazing to relax and swim in and have lots of adjacent picnic area. Water shoes are nice to have for the beach and lake.

Other notes:
-Firewood is expensive at this cmpground, $9 per small bundle. So, if you can find some to bring with you, you might be able to enjoy a fire for a longer period.
-Showers, toilets (some flush), and drinking water is avialable thoughout the campground.
-The small trial attached to Alouette Campground is a nice, short stroll that almost anyone can handle. Be prepared for mud if it has rained in the recent past though.
- The other trails in the park look amazing and we look forward to doing some more serious hiking there!!
-The day use area in the park would be a great place to go to hang out on the beach on a nice hot day and we will definitely consider this option too if we don't feel like staying in the campground overnight.

We hope this helps your planning. :)
