Don't miss the colorful buildings and cute shops! Great browsing or gifts for yourself or others. Stop in at the distillery for an added treat.

You cannot go to Nova Scotia and not visit this beautiful town! I could have taken a thousand photos of the gorgeous harbor, boats, and buildings. Truly a treasure!

The historic district is very beautiful and a pleasant walk up and down the streets and along the waterfront. It would be nice to see some more public information posted about the history of the buildings.

We walked around Lunenburg and also took a horse and carriage tour that was fantastic! What a gem this town is! The architecture is amazing and you are transported back to the 1700s as you are seeing it just as it was. Give yourself time to see the buildings, check out the museums and visit the art galleries. It is all well worth the time and visit.

The colourful old houses look like a historical movie set. From all our long trip through New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI, this was my favourite town. Incredibly picturesque and easy to walk. On a week-day, my suggestion is to park free at the Farmer's Market on 15 Green St. and just enjoy the stroll, if you are passing through.

Forget this place and go somewhere else, like Peggys Cove. We were in much anticipation to visit Lunenburg and what a waste of time --- I had to drive around for 45 minutes trying to park and not a chance did I get. The small car park near the 'port' was full and one had to wait for a space to become vacant, but what a queue there was. On stret parking was just as bad an there was no space AT ALL vacant even when we drove around.
Gave it up as a bad choice and doubled back to Peggyus Cove instead. Much better

Beautiful place and so much history to learn. Alas, we came on a damp day and did not see it as it’s best.
A walking tour is the best way to find out about the place as a whole and even on individual buildings. Being a Heritage sight it is as it was.

What a beautiful sight to see! We loved the colourful buildings and the wharves and boats and historical streets, plus tasty fresh fish at the Half Shell Restaurant. Take a step back in time. Also, take the time to visit and view the Mariners’ Memorial to reflect on the too many lives lost at sea. Enjoy the moments!

We walked around historic Lunenburg and thorough enjoyed it. Even on an overcast and sometimes rainy day it is a beautiful town. So

We walked the narrow streets with their century old multi coloured pastel homes and then we headed to the docks. The Bluenose II was in for refit and some sprucing up before it summer voyages. We had just missed a film crew as we saw sugar and rum barrels as well as many sacks of raw cotton. Horses and buggies.

Planning a trip in later October 2019 and Sunday seems to be the best day for our schedule. Will Lunenburg sights/tourist businesses be open on Sunday in that time frame?

Lunenburg is a great place but closes up early in the evening and especially in the fall. It is best to plan an early day trip to this area at that time of year. Sunday may also not be your best day. As things may open latter and close early.

Yes there are, but Lunenburg's not that big - just walk round the central area yourself and enjoy.
