Easy flat and wide trail through woodlands, marshes, and rural country. We walked the 20 km there and back in about 4 hrs. Mostly peaceful with many birds and wildlife, disrupted occasionally by motorized off road vehicles. Packed gravel with occasional sandy sections, fat tires recommended. Free maps at tourist info.

We rode this trail today from about 5 km east of Mahone Bay village to Chester. The first few km were good with one view of the bay. However the rest of the trail was heavily covered with potholes, several the width of the path and very deep. We are new to the area and were unable to determine how close we were to Chester, our destination. ATVs had torn up the loose gravel especially at entrances and exits of the path when it crossed a road. One bridge was out and there were no instructions for how to continue on. We even met horses. As a result we turned to the highway for our return. Please repair this road and send the ATVs elsewhere.

An exciting walking trail ,part of the Rails for Trails,a well groomed and maintained trail for walkers of all ages, bikes are welcome for easy riding. Scenic views from trail skirting the coastal shore of the waters of Mahone Bay and through the villages along the trail. It crosses the highway #3 in many locations for easy access. Rivers and lakes and bridges and fall colors galore, very safe area to travel with family.
