Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eaude vie and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free.

You know you're in a special place as soon as you walk through the door. The smell of the wood and the distilling are unique. Most importantly, the products are excellent. There are three rums and each is very, very good. Their gin and vodka are also great quality products. I really love the rhubarb liquor.

Just stunning store, old ironwork pieces scattered about, beautifully done. The strawberry liquor is like drinking liquid jam!

If you enjoy the smell of stored wood and the smell of wood burning then this place is a must to visit. The distillation process was happening while we were there. Friendly staff were there to provide a taste and to sell their lovely product. It's old with exposed beams and a display of iron products. Barrels are stacked inside... More

Great place to drop in and check out. The large floor boards, the old distillery equipment is pretty neat to look at. They also have free samples to try their many delicious liquors. I especially liked the flavoured gin!

While I was initially disappointed that they didn't have whiskey, the apple vodka and the various liquors more than made up for that deficit. We arrived too late for a tour, but the complimentary tastings made it a little better. I wish they could ship to the USA! The rhubarb liquor was my favorite, and I cannot wait to try... More
