About
Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eau-de-vie, Rum, Gin, Whisky and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free. Please contact us to check on the tour availability.

Knowledgeable staff. Tiny place that had a few nice alcoholic beverages. From there Vodka to Rum, it was all nice. Been there every time we are back in Nova Scotia

Had a great visit to Ironworks distillery. The tasting experience is not to be missed! Fabulous service. Came away with a bottle of their maple rum and some sample liquors… hummm hummm

Excellent staff, yummy spirits, great gift idea! We stopped in with kids in tow and they entertained themselves nearby while we sampled spirits. Some of the best spirits we tried on island.

The Ironworks is a small distillery that produces gin, vodka and rum along with a few other liqueurs. We spent a good hour or so talking with John about the distillery, how the products are made and a variety of other topics along with sampling their products. If you go look for John. He's a tall gentleman from England who will enjoyably talk your ear off. We had a wonderful time.

Very interesting building with a great educational tour. The rums weren’t my favourite but did enjoy the gin products.

We stopped and did some tasting of local spirits and left with a couple of bottles. We recommend the gin and the cream rum.

great little distillery - samplings readily available - knowledgeable staff - great hours as most of Lunenburg operates on a 11am to 4 pm schedule ( or are closed)

We were very happy with this shop - lots of variety - we had made it a point to go there to buy some liquor for family. They have tastings too!

As a matter of fact we do. Before now everyone on the tour tasting sat around the counter in our tiny onsite kitchen. It was cosy and intimate but really restricted the number of people we could comfortably accommodate. Now we have our extension, the Quarrie Room (named after the designer / builder) where everyone can have more room to taste our products. See you soon!

Hi there - the buggy tour is run by a company called "Trot In Time" and we are very lucky that they come by the shop every time they go out on a tour around town. We highly recommend them - it's a fun and easy way to see the town, without having to walk up all the hills!
