When we decided to visit this place on this grumpy and rainy day, we totally didn't expect to see the Miss Canada IV, a gorgeous beauty built in 1948 which has a unique 3000 HP engine and can reach 200 mph! Awesome place!

A beautiful setting to see and learn about Muskoka lake boats, past and present. Activities for children, something for everyone. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were accompanied by our European friends. When we stumbled upon this museum we thought why not see what this is all about. Over 4 hours later were emerged with an understanding of the history of the area and a deep appreciation of the beautiful wooden boats and what dedication it takes to keep them running. The... More

We held a "Celebration of Life" for my sister-in-law on the premises. The staff were very helpful and took exceptionally good care of us. The celebration went very well as it offered venues for friends and family to get together and remember good times. The added attractions of the very well preserved boats and the proximity of the water were... More

We spent a good hour here enjoying the exhibits and films. Wonderful that the local history is being honoured. The collection of wooden boats in the outside (covered) section is worth the price of admission.

It was all very interesting. Self guided tour and videos. The floating wood boats were the highlight but how they were made was very interesting. All of the exhibits were great. a must see if there.

What a great time cruising around lake Muskoka. A wonderful way to see the lake and learn about the local history; it is a narrated cruise. There is plenty of comfortable seating and a coffee shop on board which you will be so happy for on the colder fall days when out viewing the fabulous array of fall colours. I... More

We visited on 20th October, and we were the only people there. We had the whole museum to ourselves for 1 1/2 hours. The steamships were not operating, and the whole area had the ambience of a ghost town. The museum was well worth the CAD9 [Seniors] entry fee. The history of the Muskoka lakes was explained and illustrated in... More
