One of the locales overheard me and my girlfriend talking to o the IGA staff about fresh crab , she told us about the Public Market in Gibson , there is a great seafood place have so many different fresh crabs available , so here we are in the Public Market , not a big market like Granville Island market in Vancouver , but spacious and supper clean , every merchants so friendly with professional services , and the quality is excellent , very unique and authentic , food and beverage is upstairs , and the main floor is the market , bakery , seafood , meat , coffee , vegs , it is a hidden gems , the seafood merchant she so helpful and friendly , so many fresh different crabs , like Dungeness crab , snow crabs etc , not expensive at all , they open Tuesday to Sunday , if you looking for a good unique place to shop , try the Gibsons Public market , you will surprise the quality and price !

I've visited this small public market a few times and often picked up an item or two in the downstairs food spots. I thought I'd post a review this time. There are several sections: baked goods, meats, cheeses, seafood. All have nice selections of different things. I bought a selection of cheeses this itme and have really enjoyed them. I bought baked goods there before, and was also very pleased. Nice fresh stuff!

This is a perfect visit for tourist looking for a flavour of unique in local experiences. It doesn’t deserve the low 3 star ratings. It has a gorgeous aquarium in the centre in which you can view what you could only see under the ocean otherwise. These salt water aquariums are not cheap on upkeep! There is also the aquatic museum only open on weekends.
Products sold by vendors are actually not any more expensive than any other establishment of this type. We bought different flavours of water kefir, pepperoni sticks - very reasonably priced at $2 each and the 5th one free - chocolate covered honeycomb, and organic pickles, again only $7.99, a great price for organic pickles. I did not like that the menu upstairs did not have prices on it though. I don’t eat at places that use that tactic on interested customers.

If you find yourself passing through Gibsons Landing this is a nice spot to pickup some specialty cheeses, meats etc. It has a bit ofeverything if you are visiting a B&B, and can add some specialty items to your stay.
Don't forget to go back behind the Market and enjoy a nice walk along the Marina with access to Lower Gibsons and all of the quaint shops.

A really nice idea. We had lunch upstairs and it was delicious. The bakery on the main floor is wonderful.

There is coffee and snacks available upstairs and good seating arrangement. Fireplace and art display. Downstairs is a selection of small stores like a Cheese Shop, Fish Store, Green Grocery and others.

Amazing place with many options for everyone! There is an aquarium inside which was pretty neat. The cheese and meats section was fantastic, which very knowledgeable employees. We enjoyed the popsicles, cheesecake on a stick and the very best iced earl grey ice tea. THE BEST. Im still thinking about the iced tea. The building is very rustic with a modern twist. The surrounding area is nice with the marina and a small garden. Perfect for snacking on some crazy red breads crackers and 10 year old cheddar!

everything is expensive at this market; chocolate, seafood, meat, cheese and flowers. It is okay to visit once and have brunch/lunch but we would not bother to re-visit unless friends visiting ask us to take them there
