We found BC Fishing Charters well equipped, professional and accommodating. From the moment we arrived at the dock in Gibsons, we were made to feel comfortable and at ease, despite it being our first time venture. After a brief orientation of the vessel’s safety features, we were off. Our captain took us a ways offshore and patiently instructed us on the nuances of downrigger Salmon fishing, in terms we landlubbers could all understand. B.C. Fishing Charters, whom also do dive charters, supply life vests, rain gear (should you need it), fishing rods and tackle, and everything else the newbie saltwater fisher might require. And despite a slow start, each of our party had hooked an example of the best that West Coast waters have to offer. That night, we enjoyed fresh caught stuffed salmon, hot off the grill. We reflected on the days adventure and argued who had landed the biggest catch - over a glass of Okanagan white wine. And it don’t get much better than that. B.C. Fishing Charters gets five stars, for their kindness, their expertise and for their accommodating ways.

We did 2 charters during our stay on the coast and has an absolute blast! Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. Greg lets you actually fish too, some guides really have a hard time letting the clients do the fishing, but he'll let you do as much as you're comfortable with. The boat is big and the cabin has ample room to take a seat or even lie down if you need. 10/10,2 thumbs up. We'll be back. Thanks for the memories and the fish tacos!

Would recommend captain Greg to anyone looking for a fishing adventure on the Sunshine Coast. His large and well equipped boat was very comfortable both to ride and fish in. He went out of his way to ensure that we caught fish despite the bite being slow the day we went. Beautiful scenery regardless of how good the salmon are biting.

My husband and I were extremely fortunate to find these folks on the Internet as we were planning our much-anticipated 20th anniversary trip to Gibsons, BC. We had our hearts set on netting a few good salmon and we were definitely not disappointed!! We were able to make all the arrangements in advance by web and phone - Loretta made this so easy for us. Captain Greg is a great guy - warm and personable - and seemed to enjoy patiently teaching us the fishing techniques that are most successful in this part of the world. Tho the change to somewhat rougher weather made the fishing a bit challenging, the captain was determined that we should garner the nice fish we sought. He used his extensive knowledge of the local hot spots to great advantage - yielding an incredible 28-pound ling cod and an absolutely gorgeous 24-pound Chinook salmon on subsequent trips! In addition, he threw out crab pots at the start of the trip and we picked the up on the way back to dock. One day we took home a dozen beautiful Dungeness crabs – what a feast for our hostesses and ourselves featuring delicious cod and fresh crab!! Their boat is very comfortable - and I must say the cleanest and most lovingly kept charter craft I have ever experienced (and I have seen a few!). ‘Tho there were only two in our party, it would comfortably accommodate a small group or family. I can say without hesitation that there is something for all skill levels – as we learned more of the “lay of the land” as it were, the captain allowed us to manage more of our own baiting and rigging. And as we showed our curiosity about the Sunshine Coast, he offered us more details of the area and the fishing techniques. But have no fear if you are a beginner – he will cheerfully handle it all for you, if that is your preference. Greg and Loretta offer additional highly rated experiences, including sunset cruises, guided tours, kayak rentals, sales and tours, and sailing – including instruction. We were so delighted to find them, and definitely plan to include them again in our future travels. Please give them a try – you will not be disappointed!!

We booked a half day fishing charter for our anniversary. Greg was our skipper and we found him to be very personable, with great local knowledge. He did all the baiting and prep for us, and when it came time to reel in the fish, he was a patient coach. He also cleaned the fish we caught and froze the fish for our trip home. We hooked 7 fish during the 4 hour charter, and landed 2 biggies. A Chinook and a Pink. We seemed to be catching fish when others around us were not. We also dropped a couple of crab traps on the way out and checked them on the way back. The catch, though, was a little small to keep (poachers had cleaned out the area, and recovery is still in process), so we threw them back in the water. Greg's equipment (boat, rods, etc) was A-1, well maintained and clean. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and would recommend him for both first time and experienced fisherman.
