About
Stronghold Brewing Co. is a family owned and operated craft brewery and taproom located on historic Main Street, Fort Macleod. The taproom serves the beer that is brewed in-house and always has an approachable beer or two on tap, experimental and fun styles, and non-alcoholic options. Fort Macleod is at the junction of Highway 2 & 3, and the gateway to southern Alberta. Movie and television lovers will recognize Main Street from Brokeback Mountain, Interstellar, Fargo (FX), Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Last of Us, and more. Minors are welcome as long as they are accompanied by their guardian.

A local gem that has developed a faithful following, Arrived as opening. Social distancing limited number of allowed guests. Servers very knowledgable. Family run business. Good selection of beer. Enjoyed all of the flight tried. Products are being sold outside of Fort MacLeod and the brewery. If you enjoy Craft beers this is a must try.

In what looks like a heritage building right on the main street of Fort MacLeod. Nice range of beers and tasting flights available. Somewhat limited opening hours (a small town after all and tourism season has not quite started) so phone the brewery to confirm their hours. Friendly service. No food.

I am glad I don’t live far because this has become a favorite . The beer is delicious time after time . The staff are like friends . The building is super cool. It’s cozy to hang out in . Just remember they don’t serve food . But you are able to call the pizza place down the street for some good pizza and have it delivered or the owner said you could bring some snacks . It’s a hidden little gem that you shouldn’t miss out on !

If you're looking for a great place to unwind and feel at home this is it. Great People, Great Beer and a comfy place to share time with friends/family. I liked the Summer and the Cream Ale. What a great addition to Historic Downtown Fort Macleod. Wish I lived closer for Friday after work get togethers..

Take an old historic building on Main Street and turn it into a Brew Pub. That part took almost two years, one of the owners said. But the museum-worthy doors, turned posts and effort to maintain the old look are noteworthy as well as comfortable and modern. There is glass separating the brewing area from the seating area. Their brews change with the season and the staff are pleased to tell you about them and provide a sample. You can ask for a pizza and it will be brought in from a local pizza place with whom the Stronghold has a partnership. Or you can order food directly from the pizza place and it will be brought in to the brewery. The owners are siblings, Albertans and well-educated: Ayleigh, was trained at Carlton in marketing, and lists herself as Co-founder and Head of Hoppiness; Tom has his BSc as well as a Brewmaster degree from Olds, AB. They prefer to source locally. Their customers are not so much the twenty year olds but mid-years men and women who like beer. Usually we find that what the brewmaster or winemaker says a drink tastes like is not apparent to us. That was not the case at Stronghold where Ayleigh said it had a hint of apricots, and the taste was there! My husband agreed about his IPA and also enjoyed using the new-shaped beer glasses. All in all, going to the Stronghold Brewing Co was a great experience from the Beer, to the owner/servers, to the site. An hour for us, well spent.

Showed up in Fort Macleod for a Kiss Ikons tribute concert. While we were waiting to enter the Empress Theatre right across the street, we had a few beverages. Excellent brew.
