Headed out to Fort Macleod to get some live music in. The Kiss tribute band was playing at the Empress. What a cool place. Old school theater with comfortable seating, alcohol sales and amazing sound. I'll be back

Great little theatre. This theatre was built over 100 years ago and is still in use. Not huge - and that is part of the charm. Its old-style decor and atmosphere are great. They show movies but also bring in lots of live acts. The people who keep this place alive add so much to the community.

We saw a band called the Polyjesters. Was a great evening out!

The Empress is a beautiful theatre; movie nights with the family and friends are so fun. If you get an opportunity to see a concert or a movie here you won’t be disappointed with the show or the price. If you’re coming from out of town it’s well worth the drive.

Grew up going to movies here as a local kid. Now go to take in top notch live musical performances. Coig from Cape Breton was amazing. Refreshments in the green room during admission.

When walking in the historic downtown you can see the Empress Theatre. It's the first and oldest theatre in Alberta. Quite nice to see. It's too bad it was closed though when I went. They offer tours inside.

It was a pleasure to experience this historic theatre (over 100 years old). We attended a comedy musical production called 'Nunsense" all performed by local people and it was fun and entertaining. This theatre has a good feel to it.....a very homey atmosphere. I was very impressed with the neon tulips adorning the ceiling. The concession booth was in operation and food and drinks were allowed in the theatre. There are various concerts, live theatre and movies offered throughout the year. Be sure and allow time to walk down the main street of Fort Macleod. It truly is picturesque and if you have time try out one of the restaurants. The Empress definitely deserves a visit.
