We go there almost weekly in the summers.
Sometimes for a stroll on the beach.
Or to camp with friends.
Always clean and peaceful

We spent a restless night there thinking that we would be disturbed by traffic as our campsite was so close to the road😔
The traffic noise completely died down once the last ferry had gone; but the campsite although only 18 sites was the noisiest we had been to ... some sites are quiet, but not on that occasion for us.

This offers a peaceful and quiet experience of the Kootenay Lake.

We stayed at the campground (site 14 or 15 - can't recall which) and it was very relaxing. Nice and open with some good sun exposure. Most sites are treed. Note that sound travels a lot with this layout. The Maroon 5 blasting down the way kind of detracted from the nature vibe.

It's first come first served, but we found a few sites available upon our early afternoon Friday arrival. Probably best not to gamble late in the day, though.

Firewood is of questionable quality, fyi, especially considering the $8.00 price tag! Wet, too!

Note: Pump water provides 'untreated' boil advisory warning, though does not state non-potable. We gambled and drank it and there were no grim results in the pit toilets!I am of a more delicate constitution, so if I can drink it, I bet anyone can! ;-)

Try to get a site away from the highway as people really burn up this road on their various combustible engines. That's the only con to this lovely spot.

Spent the afternoon at the beach with the family. It was a bit hard to find. Parking lot is on the east side of 3A, have to walk across the highway to a trail to the beach. Not a far walk but be careful crossing the highway. No cross walk and a windy road... Can't see the traffic coming.
