Not a difficult hike to the lighthouse to enjoy the view but you can also go in the lighthouse and climb to the top. Great surprise and well worth it.

Well maintained trails with nice views of the lake. Watch for deer and bears! Short hike to the lighthouse where you can enter the building and climb ver narrow and steep stairs to the top.

Quick and a bit steep hike to the lighthouse, a nice just to relax after the ferry to stretch your legs. Lots of mosquitoes, so be warned!

Restored but not functional historical lighthouse highlight of Pilot Bay Provincial Park. Easy hike from Pilot Bay Road to lighthouse on well-maintained trail. Visitors will need to be able to climb ladders to reach top outside balcony for lake view.

We went to the lighthouse first and then hit the trail. What a beautiful hike in the forest with many parts that open up to the lake with a lovely beach. Not a difficult hike and you can make it as long as you would like it to be.

We took the ferry from Balfour for the day, went to the lighthouse trail then the other trails in Pilot Bay. We had an amazing day. The trail it self is just stunning nature, and when you add the views on the lake it just keeps taking your breath away.

This is a great short hike with rewarding view that can be done in about 15 minutes one way. Stay at least that long in the lighthouse to enjoy the panoramic views of Kootenay Lake and imagine the era of the paddle wheelers. A wonderful piece of history restored and maintained so well.

This is not a long walk, but my friend has hip problems so the previous reviews are misleading! It's only a 1/4 mile, but it's a steep grade, difficult for anyone with leg or hip or lung and breathing problems. Not for any elderly folks unless you are in good shape. The lighthouse is cute and the view wonderful. Wear good shoes, not sandals.

The hike is short but all up a fairly steep hill. We were able to do it no problem with our 3 year old.
