This place was so cool. Such beautiful craftsmanship. We got to watch a broom being made, such a surprisingly physical process. It is functional art! Wide variety of pricing to fit any budget. Of course we purchased a broom! They informed us that they will even re-bristle your broom if you wear it out! However they do last a long time.

This is my first stop after coming off the Kootenay Bay Ferry. Unique one-of-a-kind shop. Excellent choice whether the broom is for utility or display purpose. Superb craftsmanship on any types of blooms. Cute tiny blooms as fridge magnets are wonderful souvenirs or gifts. Artist on site with his workshop eager to explain his products. I came across the blooms of limited quantities for sale in the gift shop of Grand Forks Art Gallery/Visitors Centre.

Gorgeous handmade brooms and a chance to speak with the artist made this visit a highlight. He helped us pick out a couple of brooms that will help pick up the dog hair. He explained the process and his love for his art was obvious. We are really happy we stopped by!

I wasn’t planning on buying a hand made broom on this vacation, but after stopping and talking to the artisan making them on site, I had to.

Open most of the year except Winter, this family run business revives the art of making brooms which last a long time. Special edition Harry Potter promo brooms were made here. Check their website for hours open.

We were traveling the Selkirk Loop with our friends. We caught the Osprey 2000 Ferry in Balfour. North Woven Broom is a short drive from the Ferry landing.
It is a small barn type building. There was a male and a female inside both making broom. It was interesting to see how they are made. There are numerous brooms hanging everywhere in this small building. There also had whisks, potato scrubbers, golf shoe scrubbers and other items.
They have posted a number of articles about where the materials come from, the link with Harry Potter and other articles.
The staff are very approachable and willing to answer any questions while they work away at another broom.
It was definitely worth the stop.
