Went to the Provincial Park on the south end of the lake and had a very nice and peaceful afternoon on the beach. There are plenty of Tables and one can bring the food with them and enjoy the beach. It was a perfect day sunny no wind and actually not to many people. Water was still ok and not to cold.

Christina Lake community is known to have the warmest lake in Canada and being in the Kootenay Lake beforehand we absolutely can confirm this. The water is crystal clear and warm. Locals mentioned that it is fed by some hot springs nearby. There is a larger beach, well maintained, on the South End which can be accessed by the Christina Lake Provincial Park.

The water is bathtub warm, the views are breathtaking, the sleepy little town population balloons up in the summer, and you CAN get a speeding ticket if you don't mind the residential speed limit zones.

Like so many BC Provincial Parks, there is nowhere to take the dogs.I feel, there should be one area put aside where one can walk one's dog.Very unfortunate!

We stopped beside this beautiful lake to admire it and the wonderful scenery surrounding it. We also visited the park at the southern end of the lake which is a lovely, peaceful place.

We stopped here twice on the way through from traveling. By far the best Lake I have ever went swimming in. The water is so clear and calm you almost feel like its not real. Because the water along the beach is shallow its very warm and even though I went during the off season it was still very warm to swim in. The beach is well treed for shade and picnic tables are everywhere. This is one place you can pass by without seeing. One of the best scenic views of the mountains.

We took a small break here, When we reached, the beach was crowded with people swimming, boating or just basking in the sun. We did not wait there for too long as it was too crowded. The lake reminded me of Buntzen lake in Port Moody (Vancouver). I did not feel anything special about the lake, just a typical lake in the BC.

I'm from Alberta with a reservation in a motel at the lake for the end of july . Will I still be able to come with the new travel restrictions
Written May 22, 2020
Yes the restrictions are only for Provincial campsites, But be aware of prejudice of outsiders during this pandemic!

I am thinking of visiting Christina Lake in May. I have been there before in the summer but would like to know what the weather is like in May and if it would be warm to swim in the lake. I am hoping for warm, spring sunshine.

Thinking about heading up for a quiet getaway. Any suggestions on what time of year to go where the weather would be good enough for swimming and hiking, but not so crowded?
Written September 21, 2018
Hi there.
I would suggest June to early September as being the best time and Christiana Lake public beach is always nice.

What place would you camp in for 7 days? Last week of July! Provincial Park, no hookups or Beverly Hills, smaller campground but not right on the water?
We have a hybrid trailer and are bringing our dogs, bikes and paddle boards.
We plan on doing lots of water,m biking and hiking things while there but there will be times we would like to leave the dogs behind and wonder if we would need air conditioning for them.
Love the idea of being right on the water, however, having full services is also a great factor.

I prefer the provincial camp ground if you like it a little more rustic. They do have showers and good washroom facilities.
You will need to be on the ball to a get a placed booked here.
The beach is just a short walk from the nearest campsites. There are plenty of trees so you do have shade on hot days.

Hi there,
I like to know if there is cell service at Christine Lake?
Written August 11, 2016
In town, yes for sure. In the mountain passes, not so much.

I am planning on camping at North or South Okanagan Lake Campground (10 days) and am thinking of bringing a boat. I understand there's a boat launch at the South Campground. My questions is, I will be hauling the boat with my motorhome, once I unload the boat in the water, are there any spots to have it parked overnight? Once I set up the motorhome, it would be a pain to drag the boat out of the water on daily basis. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to reserve 4 campsites for a week in July. We have all ages in our group. What campsite would you recommend, walking access to the beach would be good. Thanks for your help. Never camped at Christina Lake before.

Hi Joanne, most campgrounds are within a couple blocks of the beach. Many have full RV hookups and others none - best to check if you need them. Gladstone Provincial Park is on the edge of town but is closest to the park's many hiking trails and its beach. Any of the accommodators on and around Kingsley Rd. are central to restaurants and the grocery store. The two near West Lake Dr. are closest to the big beach on the south end. But if golf is your passion then you can check out the RV sites adjacent to the golf club.
