We recently had the opportunity to experience an 8 day adventure exploring the Great Bear Rainforest and the coastal fjords of BC’s coast.

Captain Peter (Ragnar) and the Seawolf were the base of our operations as we moved from secluded bay to secluded bay.

From humpbacks and dolphins, to fishing for dinner, to lunch on a distant beach every day was a new adventure.

Peter’s calm demeanor and extensive sea knowledge made this adventure a must repeat as there is so much more to explore.

Being new to sailing and helming the boat with full sails was an experience we won’t soon forget.

Highly recommend extending the base trip (6 days) to 8 so that you have time in the morning to relax and beachcomb more before heading to the next day’s anchorage.

Till next time 👍👍

Oh my God. We will never forget the time well spend with Peter. As usual tour started at 8AM. Shortly after boarding his boat, he offered us hot tea of coffee . We saw couple of orca. We immediately turned the engine off so that we can take pictures. The tour continued with some snacks. As we were enjoying the hot spring he cooked meals for us which was a nice treat after soaking in hot spring. He should be best thing to do in Bella Coola. He was checking with all the guests on board chatting with them to make them comfort.

Absolutely captivating, from the very first step aboard the Sea Wolf. Having traveled and sailed in many countries around the world I can say comparatively that this one week adventure with Peter was my absolute favourite trip. Firstly, Peter is a very modest and an incredible person who is very passionate with his love of sailing and his love of nature. Every day was filled with memorable activities and sittings from evening kayaking trips while watching the sun set, grizzly bear viewing in a dinghy up the most spectacular river you will ever see, whale watching, porpoises chasing the boat and simply enjoying the beauty of sailing to list a few. There was a very spiritual sense of calmness and peacefulness on this trip and I contribute a big part of that to Peter's reflections through our conversations from day to day. We did share a lot of fun and good laughs with our bantering. When I left the dock I thought to myself this ranks as one off my best trips ever and experiences. Thank you for being you and thank you for sharing your back yard and office with us! The crab will sure be pleased to know that I am not in there neighbourhood any more!

Sailing with Peter was the unforgettable highlight of our vacation. Our two day trip had it all – catching crabs for dinner, roasting sausages over a fire in a secluded beach visited by wolves, sailing alongside a pod of 200 dolphins, relaxing in a natural hot spring, kayaking in a solitary bay out of a movie, observing black and grizzly bears a stone’s throw away, fishing for our lunch on the return leg, and plenty of time to relax both above and below deck. Peter works tirelessly, sailing, cooking, cleaning, and shuttling you around in the zodiac, you’d believe you are being tended to by a crew of ten. He was great with our kids, and provided all sorts of interesting information and engaging conversation. I truly can’t recommend this enough.

We went out for an amazing day trip with Peter this August. It was the best money we spent on our trip to Bella Coola, Port McNeill, and Tofino. We have a son on the spectrum and he won't go on our riverboat but he was happy to try sailing. Peter was amazing with him! He explained to him what would happen when we started sailing and our son was thrilled to steer the sailboat. You can see how engaged Peter is while showing him the basics of sailing in our picture. He is a first-class individual and this trip is worth every penny spent!

We reached out to Pete towards the end of March, which isn’t a typical time of year for tours in Bella Coola, but we wanted to be able to explore the area while we were there and Pete was so accommodating. We had a spectacular day sailing to the Hot Springs and the Big Cedar Tree. The mountain views were incredible and the time spent at the hot springs and hiking to the cedar tree were some of our favorite activities while we were there. Pete is so fun to hang out with - he wants everyone to have a good time, to relax, laugh and enjoy the day. We took our 2 boys (ages 13 and 16) and they thought Pete was a blast! If you’re looking for an amazing adventure in Bella Coola with a fantastic guide, then Pete is your guy!

We had an extremely fun time spending the day with Pete. He had tea and pancakes for us when we arrived and took off to check out the beautiful fjords of Bella Coola, seeing a porpoise along the way! We got to hike to Big Cedar while he made us a tasty lunch and then we got to enjoy the hot springs all to ourselves. It got very windy at that point and Pete got to let us experience the full fun of really sailing. Pete is quite the character and we highly recommend adventuring with him!

Wow! The day trip with Peter was one to never forget. The day trip consisted of smooth sailing through the gorgeous fjords (Bella Coola Inlet) with picturesque scenery and wildlife. The stops at the hot springs, big cedar tree and pictographs/ petroglyphs were top notch and not to be missed. On top of all of that, Peter cooked us an incredible seafood lunch and even surprised us with dessert!
Peter was a true professional with an incredible, light-hearted and warm personality which made us feel right at home during the tour. We cannot wait to go back to Bella Coola again soon and take another adventure with Peter and the Sea Wolf!

We had an amazing day out sailing to the hot springs with Peter with 8 friends. Lots of room on the boat for us, hanging out on the front in the sun or inside while cooking. He had helpful knowledge of the local area and shared some great sailing stories with us. Would highly recommend!

It was a toss up between a day trip that was described as " a taste" or two days with a night on the boat that was described as, "an experience". I opted for the experience and have no regrets! Before we left the harbor we had pulled and set crab traps and seen the tail of a big whale! My smile was ear to ear. We cruised to a quiet bay and watched the most beautiful blonde faced grizzly, kayaked the estuary, basked in the warmth of a natural hot spring and then dined on crab. Snuggled into the forward cabin for a peaceful night on board. I had never been on a ocean sail boat and this trip pretty much ticked all the boxes. My one complaint is that the trip was to short! A return trip is always the highest recommendation. Already booked for six night next May! Thank you Peter for a very memorable adventure.
