Brigus is a classic, lovely sea-side town, but no other place has this: a real tunnel bored through a rocky ridge. Visitors like it because it does the same thing it did for the man who had it made, it gives you excellent access to the bay. On our visit, we saw lots of seabirds, and it is very scenic. This town has lots of attractions to offer, and this one of their best!

Nice little park overlooking the water, would be a nice spot for a picnic. The tunnel was somewhat underwhelming, but if you’re in Brigus you might as well check it out.

OK, so the Brigus Tunnel is basically just a tunnel. But actually it is a fun place to stop for a few minutes. The scenery is really nice, the town is very quaint, and the history of the making of the tunnel (told on plaques) is quite interesting. It is a very nice place to visit for a little while.

Beautiful view of the harbour, makes for a great backdrop for photos! You cannot visit Brigus without visiting the Brigus Tunnel.

Brigus is a unique community - The Tunnel, Harbour, old homes, St. George's Heritage Church, Hawthorne Cottage, Old Barn Museum, that makes for a great visit. Highly recommend.

It is the walk around town that is the pleasure. The tunnel is only a stopping point. I would focus on the houses, lawns and the nice people in town with whom you can converse.

Can't believe the rock cut was completed back in the mid 1800's. Amazing. Great view if the inlet as you pass through the tunnel to the other side.

A neat tunnel with some history. If you are in Brigus then it is certainly worth the stop, but I wouldn’t make a detour for it.

This tunnel was cut through solid rock to facilitate the loading and unloading of ships. The rock face provided deep water access for the ships but no way to load / unload..... so they cut a tunnel through the rock. Great!

While in Brigus, you must definitely visit this "man-made" tunnel to the water...great photo ops. I would definitely rate it as a unique experience. If Brigus isn't on your path though, do skip!
