Absolutely loved our stop today! We were so surprised that such a little building could contain so much content. And extremely easy to navigate as it’s so well laid out. The museum staff was a guy who had grown up all his life in Brigus and was AMAZING! He shared the stories and tales that you might otherwise not learn from anyone but a local!
And the bonus...while you’re there run into the old fashioned and functional blacksmith shop right next door!

It's a small 2 rooms of exhibits, but at $2/per person, this museum is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of Brigus. The barn has been carefully reconstructed and the interior is well kept. The 2 students were informative, sharing lots of information about the town (and things to look for when walking around, which enhanced our visit). I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn a little more about the town.

This is a very small museum that one can go through in about 30 minutes, but it is nicely laid out with some interesting items. In order to access the second floor, you need to climb a small/tight spiral staircase which could be difficult with someone with mobility issues. Admission is only $2 per person and the staff were friendly.

Nicely restored museum. Lots of artifacts & history of Brigus. Guides well informed & helpful for just $2 entry fee. The forge also great to see items made as you wait.

A very interesting place to visit to learn about the history of Brigus. They also have a tiny gift shop. Admission is 2 dollars which includes a guided tour of the first floor. They also give guided tours around the town only on Tuesdays or Thursdays....ask just to make sure.

Barn was a tad on small side but very nicely restored and had a few nice artifacts.
The forge was awesome and John was kind enough to make a custom shelf for us, and he waited around until 9pm for us to make it back by there to pickup!
Everyone should visit Brigus!

Loved the history and the stories and the photos in this little gem of a place. Watch the video for sure. Then you'll want to head to Hawthorn cottage for more Bob Bartlett.

Brigus is worth visiting as it has a great deal of history of early Canadian life in a small fishing community. The young lad who serves as your guide/host in the stone barn museum was extremely informative in leading us through the displays which give a good background into the history of the town as well as the famous captain Bob Bartlett. The tour of the forge next door is also of interest. Entry was very inexpensive ($2/person)

A great spot to learn more about Brigus. If you are doing any type of geneological research that involves Brigus this is a great place to check out. They have records of the local cemeteries and even have drawings of any graves located there, The students that work there are absolutely lovely and even offered to photocopy and send the information I found there to me!! Now that is service!
