The team at the park were upfront about everything and reminded us where the comfort station was when we arrived. They led us to our campsite and brought us wood as we needed and wanted it. Friendly staff and lots more activities on site for the kids than in the past years. I saw a comment on here about no cell services, this was fantastic for our kids and gave them the opportunity to be outdoor kids. We cant wait to return next year.

Brown water, zero cell reception, and the (NOT on-site) comfort station was locked well past the "open" time even though there was a line of people waiting. Left disappointed.

A true crime that such a beautiful place..with such nice sites has been taken over by drunken party goers....the area is absolutely amazing!...this was my second stay at this park...the first time was very loud as well...but it was around labour day weekend..so I gave it the benefit of a doubt....this time around...I stayed for 9 nights...and was kept awake until 4 am for 5 of those nights...there is no quiet hours as such and there's no staff in the park after 9 pm....$20 a night....pretty good deal...?..not really....showers are $5 each at the comfort station which is not in the campground...they want $15 for dumping!your trailer... all of this is above and beyond the price they quote when you book.....you're only told about the $20 per night...so if you're a family of 4...well...do the math...it's not $20 per day......the trails in the area are not well marked... lots of garbage...one part of the trail in lumsden north is a dumping ground....a guy threw a chesterfield out of the box of a truck and set it on fire as I walked by...almost right on the trail!...the beaches are beautiful! However....you'll have sand fired all over you by speeding atvs dirt bikes etc.... there are no rules on the beaches whatsoever.....it's very unfortunate that such a beautiful area left such a poor impression.....if you want to drink and party..play music loudly until 4 am with no repricussions...this is the place for you!..........but it's not my cup of tea...terrible!

Great park location, very affordable. No complaints other than what I already knew (no comfort station on site). Site were right on the beach. Pit style toilets available that always had toilet paper so that was good. Sites are on the smaller side (#3) but was adequate for us! I will def return.

Our family of four tented at this park first week of august and must say it was a very nice park. The campgrounds were clean and had a picnic table, fire pit and was treed in so there were lots of shelter from rain and wind. The only complaint we had was there was no showers in the park but there was a comfort station in lumsden itself that you can use.

From the park you can walk a short distance down to a swimming area that connects to the ocean by a salmon river. This area also has a picnic area, change house and outhouses. A short distance from that is a beach in which the sand is something you would see in the Caribbean and the waves/shoreline is amazing.

If you stay here make sure you go into Lumsden and hike to the crows gulch which is a big crevice/cliff in the rock face that water crashes into its just amazing to see. Also lumsden has another hugh beach which is very nice to walk and swim if you can handle the cold atlantic.

I highly recommend this area for a visit and explore Newfoundlands beautiful coastal communities.

We stayed here for a few nights in our small camper with our 2 young children. It is a very quaint park, with only a small number of campsites... a majority of those being seasonal campers. We loved the small and cozy feel to it and found the owner and seasonal tenants to be extremely helpful and friendly. The sites themselves are some of the nicest we have seen from all of our camping. Some are a little on the smaller side but most of them you are able to drive right into them and there is a lot of privacy. The playground is an older, handmade wooden playground but our children loved it and made lots of friends in the few short days we were there. The beach is about a 10-15 min walk from the campsites and has an enclosed swimming area and lots of picnic tables.
It is worth mentioning that there is no comfort station or showers/flushing toilets in the park. There are lots of well maintained outhouses though and there is a comfort station about a 5 minute drive up the main road which charges $3 for showers and an additional charge for laundry machines.
Our only complaint of the entire stay there (which really has little to do with the park itself) was the flies. THE FLIES!!! Maybe it was the weather, the woods, just a bad time of the year, etc but they were everywhere. Our first night there we had to come back inside the camper before it even got dark because they were so terrible. The 2nd night wasn't much better. Our poor kids left the park looking like they had chicken pox. Not that they really cared.

Overall, we had a great stay. The park is not geographically close to where we live so it is unlikely that we will frequent it very often but we would happily recommend it to anyone travelling that way and if the opportunity arose, we would definitely stay there again.

We stopped here on a cold, windy day, but braved a walk out to the beach anyway. Apparently you can drive on it, though we chose not to. It's a beautiful flat beach with small sand dunes and sea grass in closer to the shore. On a nice day with warmer temperatures, this would be a great place to spend some time.

Any day it's fun to see this area.

A beautiful white sandy beach where you could bring a picnic and spend the day. The kids swam in the cold, shallow water, but it was too cold for me.

I drove by this beach while touring the coastline and was a bit surprised because there aren't many real 'beaches' around, just rocky coves and shores. It's a nice beach, especially to walk along, but I sure wouldn't swim in the water.
