A group of veterans and first responders with service dogs for mobility and ptsd had a great visit. Well worth the visit to see military history and pay respect to our fallen from Afghanistan.

This regimental museum (8th Hussars, founded 1848) is housed in a former railway station in the centre of Sussex. From this station, many local recruits left to fight in Europe. The collection focuses mainly on the Great War and WWII but pays hommage to UN Peacekeepering and the Afghan mission as well. Most of the personal artefacts are connected to the regiment. Several dioramas portray conditions lived by combattants, including a WWI trench and an adjutant's tent from WWII. The tour guide who accompanied us was well informed and obviously engaged with the ongoing development of the collection. Her explanations and anecdotes added immeasurably to our experience. She offered to send copies of a few photographs of the train station and they were waiting for us in email upon our return home. Definitely worth a visit.
