Mind and Matter Gallery in Surrey is an amazing art gallery. Love the local artists! The wood sculptures are my favourite.

I have lived down the street from this art gallery for 13 years and never went inside until this summer. The gallery is housed in a 60s-70s A-frame on a beautiful forested lot. Inside, the wooden bird and other nature sculptures and gorgeous felted ocean scenes and tidal pools are my favourites.

I really like to visit here in the summer when they have many artists displaying their art and selling it. Great experience.
Not sure when they're open- perhaps I should google it and find out. I really love the way the art is displayed inside, I should go again soon!

This gallery is open most of the year, but once a year they have a 2 weekend craft fair which is fabulous,in July.
Most of the fair is amongst huge old trees & very cool in the heat. They serve light snacks too during this time.

Focused on the art of the deceased - and world renowned - Arnold Mikelson, his amazing wood sculptures in particular, the Mind and Matter Gallery is small, unpretentious and outstanding. Other artists' works are also on display - and for sale - and the gallery is run by Arnold's wife Mary and their daughter Myra. Of special note is the annual Mikelson Festival of Arts, held each of the past 40 summers over two weekends. More than one hundred artists exhibit and sell works in a variety of mediums, including paintings, scuplture, fabric arts, pottery, jewelry and more. The three acres of old growth forest on the property provide a spectacular setting for this amazing annual exhibition. Staffed by volunteers and featruing a modest admission fee, all proceeds from teh event go to charity. Not to be missed.
