Hazelmere Golf Course first opened in 1962, and it has maintained a reputation for excellence ever since. Conveniently located in Surrey, which is near the U.S. Border, White Rock Beach and the Township of Langley, Hazelmere has earned a place among the finest British Columbia golf courses. In fact, from 2006 to 2008, Hazelmere Golf Course hosted the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic, a high honor for any golf course. Played yesterday for my first time here. Only 40 minutes with little traffic from North Vancouver. Putting for birdie on the first hole provided me with visions of grandeur and great things to come. However I settled for Par and a terrible round after right through to #18. But I can't say anything negative about the course other than my own game. FANTASTIC golf course, well laid out, challenging back nine and superb conditions considering the amount of play.

The most frustrating driving range in the South Surrey area. They make no effort to put signs up to let people know whether the range is open or closed so you have to walk in from the parking lot, a fair distance for some people, only to find out it’s not working or it’s closed for maintenance or for whatever reason. No consistency or consideration given for users.

Used to come here regularly years ago , and I was sadly surprised to see the drop in standards, the buffet had limited selection, no Salmon, no eggs Benedict etc ... Noticed one of the Chefs with frayed dirty paints and the waitresses in a corner chatting to themselves rather than being attentive to the customers , this place went from a quality Buffet on par with any high quality place in the City to a borderline IHOP establishment. Me and my Wife sadly won’t come back here again

We had a private room seating 32 and had 2 servers who handled it very well. We were offered either a choice of the buffet or ordering from the pub menu. More ordered from the pub menu as they didn't want to have a big meal. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal and the service.

Having lived in White Rock for years, I have been to this buffet a few times and brought guests and visiting family members to it as well. It used to be very good. I rarely write reviews on places but the food was so poor and not worth the $22 per person before tax. I would recommend you never go to this buffet unless you like being served poor quality foods that were obviously leftovers from other buffet services or special events.
Examples of poor food quality:
- Cole slaw was old, dry, and tasteless.
- Chinese noodle salad was old,dry, stuck together in clumps shaped like bowl it was in.
-Hot pasta dish was tasteless and pasta was tough (not al dente).
- The fish dish was Basa (a low cost breed of catfish). It was a white coloured fish but they covered it with brown barbecue sauce - gross).
- Chicken dish was comprised of reheated and rubbery small boneless pieces of white meat with the fake grill marks painted on it. There were also large utility grade pieces of chicken that were covered in gray skin, had little meat, and were loaded full of bones (no one took these after the first tray was replaced....I guess we were not the only ones who did not like them).
-Rice dish was dry and plain tasting.....hardly any of it was missing from the serving pan so almost everyone there didn't like it either.
It is a real shame that these purposeful low quality changes were made to a once very good buffet. On a positive note, I will say though that the staff was just excellent. They were efficient and very friendly. The omelette/beef/waffle station food was very good as it has been on past visits. So I gave two points for those two positives.
Overall, I would not recommend this buffet anymore nor will I ever come back.

We tee’d off early at about 6am but despite being a good rated golf course with a well maintained course, there was no food cart and even the cafe in between 9th and 10th hole doesn’t open till 8am apparently. When I mentioned this to the club house I was told something along the lines that the first 5 golfers are the only one that don’t get to benefit from it. So doesn’t the club care about the first set of golfers? Why do they assume that we don’t want coffee or snacks in between he 18 holes. Very sad indeed.

Had the best chicken wings I have ever had...

I decided to write a review, something I normally don’t do but I felt so bad for the young lady who was serving us I had to. We came there about a week ago to celebrate a family New Years and what a mistake. We got seated right away as there was hardly anyone in there. Service was very good and our waitress was very nice but the food, well it was the worst we have ever had. Took about 45 minutes to get our food and it was warm, not hot at all. It was sent back but came out again a little better. We ate it and it was so bland. Our waitress could not stop apologizing. We told her not to worry about it. She told me she would be quitting soon and school is starting again but she was happy to be leaving. She also told me that the management there treat the staff like dirt. She seemed very honest and we believed her. I was very sorry to hear this. We have had really good experiences in the past and that’s why we come back but I think this is it.

With all due respect, I have to question the legitimacy of your review for the following reasons:
- Food service has never taken 45 minutes even at times when the restaurant is at full capacity.
- While Hazelmere has a number of employees pursuing post secondary education, we did not have any servers leave, let alone “quit” and go back to school in the timeframe you allege.
- We take great pride in our employee retention. The majority of our staff have been with the company at least five years. The allegation that our employees are treated “like dirt”, while obviously untrue, is extremely offensive.
I'm happy to hear that you had “really good experiences” with us in the past but unfortunately will have to weigh the legitimacy of that statement against the others you've made.

Went for a bite to eat and wanted to watch the baseball game. First of all, the large projection TV/screen is broken. The other 4 tv’s are so tiny that you can’t see the score, never mind the game. Secondly, the cable package does not include TSN where the ball games, football and hockey games are televised!!! Why even bother with TV’s?
On another matter, the setting for this golf club is so beautiful, it’s time for some renovations. It smells musty when you walk in, the tiles need scrubbing, and the carpets are approx 25-30years old. I remember when they were installed. It’s tired and needs some TLC. I have spent many memorable hours at Hazelmere, but won’t be back at this point.

While I would have preferred to discuss your constructive feedback directly rather than reading it online, I'd still like to clarify some of the concerns that you have brought up.
- Our projector is not "broken" but it is retracted when not in use.
- We do have Sportnset and TSN available and we will continue to offer it in our Lounge. Being that it's not a primary focus for the majority our restaurant guests, we were assessing demand for TSN/Sportsnet after their well publicized, excessive rate hike for licensed establishments.
- As for the 12-year old carpets, we are currently planning phase two of our clubhouse's three-part flooring upgrade. Phase one was completed earlier this year when our Large Banquet Room carpeting was replaced and phase two will see the lounge with new carpets before spring 2018.

My Wife and I went with friends, although it was Saturday night the restaurant was virtually empty so we decided t eat in the lounge, they did have a pasta based buffet which included a salad bar, main course and a dessert bar for $20.95 which looked good but we weren't that hungry so we ordered off the menu. My Wife and I each had the beef dip which came with a choice of soup or fries and we each chose the soup which was chicken and bacon and was very tasty, there was a generous portion of beef on the bun but I found the dip was overly salty. For some reason the service was quite slow which was surprising since it wasn't very busy. We shared a bottle of San Pellegrino and the total bill before tip was $36.12.

On average, how long does it take to complete the whole course?

The average round duration depends on a number of factors including but not limited to: weather, golfer skill level and course business volume. That being said, we employee a team of players assistants to monitor pace of play and target a 4.5 hour 18 hole round.
