A bit off the beaten track (west Vancouver - about 45 mins from the city center) and much-less visited than its popular neighbor, Stanley, Lighthouse Park is a beautiful gem worth discovering. The trails are easy to navigate and well-marked, some paths allow you to walk through some first growth Douglas Fir and Sequoias groves, and there are lots of nice vistas throughout where you can glimpse the ocean, Stanley Park and Vancouver Harbor in the distance. BTW, it's easy to get to from the city, just jump on a bus and it will drop you 5 minutes from the park entrance.

Trails were easy to moderately difficult (likely very slippery when raining). We spent about three hours wandering about between 08:30 and 11:30 on a Sunday morning. This afforded us to see fewer fellow hikers than we anticipated which was nice for trails so close to West Vancouver. The sounds of the city could not be heard so it felt like you were deep in the forest. Awesome way to idle away a Sunday morning.

This is a beautiful park but has gone downhill over the years with too many people and out of control dogs on the main trails, especially on weekends. Plus less biodiversity now - used to love to listen to the grouse booming but they’ve been gone from the park for years. Still enjoy Eagle Point with its fawn lilies in spring and nice Arbutus trees. Also still see sapsuckers on the east side of the park.

You park at the top and walk down a trail for about 20 minutes until you reach the bottom to view the lighthouse. When you reach the lighthouse, you're restricted from getting close to it by a fence. The highlight is going down a trail to the left of the lighthouse near the bathrooms. The view was one of the most amazing views I've ever seen. We brought a lunch with us, and sat on the large rocks and admired the view of Vancouver and the Burrard Inlet. We saw a seal in the water below us and several sea birds. The walk down to the lighthouse was fine, but just remember that after you're done, you'll need to walk back up.

We went on a weekday morning and it was not very crowded, I could see that it would be popular in a sunny summer weekend though. We explored the paths and descended to East Beach and climbed the rocks at low tide. The kids learned about lighthouses and liked exploring the beach. By the time we left mid-afternoon the parking lot was jammed, so plan ahead!

Looking for something a bit different we headed to this park to take a look at an operational lighthouse. We were not prepared for hiking, wearing sandals, but the short path is good for all footwear. There are 2 viewpoints for the lighthouse with lots of places to stop and take in the amazing old forest. If you are more prepared the longer trails look like nice hikes and we will do this next time.

Hiked from the parking lot to Shore Pine Point. Hike each way takes about 10-15 minutes but expect longer on the way back due to the incline. Location offers stunning views of the coast and optimal chances to spot marine life. Hike is dog friendly, and lots of space on the trails to distance yourself.

Beautiful site, beautiful lighthouse. Site was used for protection of the west coast during WWII. At some point they had lots of soldiers posted on this site. Nice view on Vancouver, the bay and the lion's gate bridge. Historical site with interesting read. All thought we could not approach the light house it was nice to be here.

This was a last minute stop off and it was definitely worth it! The trails through the trees to the lighthouse view point were beautiful. We could only see the top of the lighthouse from the view point so am guessing there is another trail that we didn't find. The beach trail takes you to rocks (and a beach) with amazing views of the harbor and Vancouver. This was one of my favorite things to do on our trip!

Decided to make a trip to the Lighthouse Park on a fine Spring day. It was a nice drive and easy to find. Lots of parking and I believe it is free parking. There is tons of trails with amazing old forest trees and various ferns and flowers. The lighthouse itself wasn't too difficult to get to and if you take your time you can get a nice view of this historic site through some trails. There are public washrooms on site but not wheelchair accessible, at least not the one we were at.
Bring a lunch and water and your camera. you are in for a treat!
