Forest is amazing! Kids loved climbing (easy) rocks. Make sure to get a trails map as Google Maps does not have much there. OpenStreetMap covers it very well.

The hiking trails are nice , the views from different spots lovely. This would only be enhanced by being able to go up to and maybe inside the lighthouse.

Stunning!! Was great to hike through, photographers paradise!! Views of Vancouver city, the islands and stunning sea views. Easy enough to find on public transport (bus leaves from Robson Street)

A fantastic place for a walk on a sunny or rainy day. See a natural forest with large Douglas Fir and Arbutus trees. The trail to the lighthouse is about 1 km from the parking lot. It is gravel trail with a small hill. If...More

After visiting the Capilano suspense bridge I was looking for another place to go that as relatively close and low cost. I stumbled on this whilst scouring the Internet and was so glad to find it. Our navigation system didn't help - you need to...More

There's history (the old lighthouse and its story), water views (everywhere), dog-friendly (both on-lease and off-lease areas), multiple trail options, accessible to kids, but never seems really crowded. We go here a lot and enjoy it every time.

My wife and I hiked through Lighthouse Park down to the water. The park is a bit difficult to find. The hike is fairly easy with a large path cutting though a thick forest. Unfortunately you cannot reach the lighthouse itself, but you can get...More

One of my favorite spots in Vancouver. A lot of easy hikes in the park, beautiful views to Downtown and Lighthouse. Definitely worth the visit! Bring your own food and drinks, no shops in the area.

Unlike other natural places we visited (Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon) this park has lots of huge "first growth" trees (i.e. going back to before Europeans came) and offers a great forest walk experience. At the same time, it offers great views of the open water...More

Are there parking options if the lot is full? I won't have a choice to go mid-day on a Sunday, for example. Is there overflow or additional parking available? Thanks.

There isn't any overflow parking but there are a number of residential side streets that are 5-10 min from the park entrance. When we were there, we actually parked 3 streets down and asked one of the city bylaw officers who... More

Yes it's safe but you do have to practice responsible parenting as the park is a wilderness area and has cliffs and slippery rocks near water. Stay on marked trails and hold children's hands when near the water you will be... More
