The new park is a nice place for families and young kids to hang out. The walking paths by the river are very nice. I see many people coming down for lunch, and lots of people launching boats and kayaks in the river. Seems like a positive addition to the area.

Riverfront park is a great place for all ages...the play ground is so natural and reminds me of my youth when we used to play in nature and used the trees as our climbing gym. Picnic tables and firepits...pathways to the river...a large parking lot and washrooms nearby...great family fun

This is a pleasant riverside community park area with children climbing frames and seating for adults while they supervise their children. Connected to the network of footpaths and cycle tracks and close to a parking lot, this park is very popular when the weather is good.

There are many kilometres of continuous trail on the north bank of the Bow River in Cochrane. The trail is in good shape, and every inch has lovely views of the Bow River. It goes through some small-ish wild-ish areas and little bits of forest, but most of the grass next it is cut. Still we saw lots of birds, and even some wildflowers. During these times, if you're seeking places where all users strictly respect social distancing, this is not for you. If you want to do social distancing, like us, you'll be making detours in the grass around oncoming groups and individuals who just don't get it, hence the average rating.

Cochrane has done a terrific job of setting aside the riverside areas in town for public use. On a recent visit, we discovered that a park space on the east side of town is linked to the main park areas east and west of the Cowboy Trail by a very fine walking trail next to the Bow River. It looks like you can walk for hours on the trails of this lovely town! This section of the trail goes south of some industrial areas, but the area around the trail and next to the river are beautiful.

We were doing some exploring around Cochrane, and decided to stop in to Riverfront Park. There's a large parking area with toilets near where Highway 20, which bisects Cochrane, crosses the Bow River. My favourite part was the stunning mural underneath the highway bridge. Cochrane has quite an extensive pathway system, so this would be a good base if you wanted to explore that. Or, you could just find a nice place for a picnic or a short stroll.

This park is along the river which is great. The picnic tables are very close to the busy highway and main thoroughfare road. Nothing but noise with no escaping it.

Cochrane has wisely developed a great walkway/bike path along the Bow River. We went for a 10 km walk, and it was wonderful. At places you are right by the water (it was hot so we soaked our feet for a bit) and in other places you are closer to housing.
