Having not travelled in over 2 years I decided that my first trip in this time of the New Normal would be to the Arctic. It was the best decision I have made in 2 years and Inukpak Outfitting made it all happen. Once I booked flight and hotel I contacted Inukpak by email to enquire if there were any activities on offer during the first week in April. Within a couple of days I had booked and paid for through e transfer a private dogsledding "expedition". On the day of my excursion the weather was perfect brilliant sunshine and only -25c. You make your own way to the community of Apex ,NU from Iqaluit which is $8 by taxi ( which might be shared with others. For those not familiar taxis in Iqaluit are like buses in the south wherever you are going is $8.) Once at Inukpak's office your outdoor gear is assessed so do not worry if you might not have appropriate clothing the will set you up with the works in my case a better parka and boots. Then off I went by snowmobile to the dogsledding point. The dogs are then assembled and the sled prepared. My guide Fernando was amazing and knowledgeable about the dogsledding technique and local culture and history. But I was captivated by the sheer majesty of a frozen Frobisher Bay and the exhilaration of racing across this landscape to ask questions. The day progressed and it just seemed surreal in the end. There were moments when you do get put work which wakes you up from fantasy as dogs can be unpredictable but that just adds to the story. At the end of my day I even had the opportunity to unharness the dogs and help feed them it was at this moment I saw how remarkable and strong they are. Afterwards I was safely deposited back at the office. A day which was like no other. I wish to thank everyone at Inukpak for creating an experience which captures the reason why I travel. For those that may read this review and know what I mean then you also know Inukpak is for you.

Together with a friend I did the dog sledding and the snow mobile tour and it was certainly one of the best experiences in my life! The guides very always very friendly and helpful, we could do the tour in our pace and the nature we saw was just stunning. Also, considering that it was a personal tour (just the two of us) the tours are great value for money and you are able to enjoy a tour that is personalized for your. Also, the tour guides where always very happy to explain the history of the region, the difficulties of living there but also how rewarding it is to live in this beautiful paradise.
If you want to experience the Arctic then definitely go with this company! They even provided us with full clothing. We were basically outside for 4-5 hours and my whole body still felt warm and well protected. They definitely cared very much about our wellbeing.
10/10 recommend!!

Our 4-hour dog sledding excursion with Inukpak was truly an unforgettable experience. They made sure all of our group members were well dressed for the day ahead, explained the weather that was to be expected throughout the day, briefed us on safety measures, and kept checking in with us throughout the ride to make sure we were all warm and comfortable. Martine was such a knowledgeable and passionate guide and was happy to do our whole excursion in French, which we were so pleased about! The dog team was extremely friendly; Martine had given us good instructions on how to interact safely with the dogs and we also got to take some photos with them after the run! The excursion itself was beautiful, going through Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park on a crisp and clear February day. We stopped for a lovely snack and hot tea while the dogs took a little break, then made our way back to town and helped get the dogs back into their homes at the end. And - all of this also was done safely while respecting the strict COVID-19 conditions that are currently in place. As a resident of Iqaluit I’m proud to recommend any visitors or residents alike to get out on the land with Inukpak!

I was part of the NSPW crew that visited Iqaluit for the first ever wrestling show presented there and we were fortunate to have a tour of the city booked given by Martine. It was a whole new experience for all of us and it shows that she is definitely passionate about what she does! Myself I wasn't brave enough (did you know that it's really cold up north?), but the boys being the boys; they decided to celebrate their visit in a way only fitting for them: posing!
A huge thank you to Martine for the experience!

I recently visited Iqaluit on a business trip and had the pleasure of taking a city tour with Inukpak Outfitting. What a great experience. My guide (Martine) a longtime resident of Iqaluit was my guide for the morning. The tour was very informative and lots of fun. I learned so many things about the city’s origins, history and culture. The viewpoints we stopped at were breathtaking. It was obvious that Martine loves being a tour guide and sharing the best of what Iqaluit has to offer. It was a great way to spend some free time during my trip. I left with a new appreciation of the city of Iqaluit and the people that call it home. I would recommend Inukpak Outfitting to anyone wanting to Explore Iqaluit and other amazing places in Nunavut.

My friends and I visited Iqaluit for leisure and are so glad to have booked our kayaking excursion (1/2 day) with Inukpak! We were novice kayakers and were a little scared to do it at first, but Martine and Louis made sure to explain everything to us, provided us with equipment to keep us warm and cozy on a cold summer day, and were super patient while we were in the sea waters! We were also so lucky to meet some of their dog sledding puppies - you couldn't ask for a better day!
They planned a great trip for us, filled with hot cocoa and snacks. They are so knowledgeable about the land and the traditions of iqaluit, you can tell they love being there with you and sharing their expertise.
They went above and beyond in not only making our kayaking experience one to remember, but our time in Iqaluit. Martine and Louis are truly wonderful, I couldn't recommend them more! Hope to see them again for some dog sledding in the spring!

These cute puppies! They take all the attention away! lol We are soooo glad that you have been able to meet them! One of our goal: having all our puppies to socialize with as many people as we can when they are young as this will be their main duty amongst our dog team: meeting new people, cuddling and smiling to the camera!
Glad that you had a great time paddling. As a novice paddler, being able to claim that you qajaq on the Arctic Ocean is enough to make everyone jealous! We are happy that we had a chance to meet you and we cannot wait to go play outside with you again one day!

Fantastic experience with the guide/owner, Louis-Philippe. We had recent expedition snowmobiles, went for the day to see an interesting natural phenomenon called polynia. All along the trip, LP made sure that it was secure. He provided us explanations about what we were seeing and useful local knowledge. Having been living in Nunavut since a few decades, he knows what he is talking about. We had a very generous lunch (more that what we could eat) at mid-trip, including a choice of hot beverages. Equipment (and advices)offered by Martine before departure were new, clean, and adequate. This is a professionnal outfitter. All this with a smile and cordial attitude. I highly recommend Inukpak Outfitting if you com to Iqualuit, an experience I will remeber for sure!

Took part in the dog sled excursion. Weather was cooperative. Inukpak had excellent top quality outwear (parka and ski pants) which were very warm, comfortable and lightweight. Martine was an excellent tour guide. Friendly, very knowledgeable and resourceful about dog sledding, their huskie team and history of Iqaluit and Nunavut. She welcomed me to participate in the dog sledding adventure and a view from front and back of qamutik base as well as standing at the rear. Enjoyed getting to know the huskies and help feed them. Mentioned the other excursions they offer and would love to do more on my next visit.

Inukpak Outfitting took our group of four on a snowmobile excursion out on Frobisher Bay near Iqaluit, Nunavut. The snowmobiles were in excellent condition - quiet and comfortable to ride - and our guide, Louis, was extremely well prepared with a whole kamutik of supplies in case of need. All necessary precautions were made to keep us safe for the six hour tour and we all enjoyed it a lot!

I was up in Iqaluit for work. As it was my first visit I wanted to make sure I’d carve some time to connect with a local, learn about the history and culture of the town…. And see do something I would not do at home.
I’ve booked an Aurora tour with Inukpak and we had an amazing time. While we did. It think we would see the lights… after about 90 min boom, it was there in front of us. See for yourself.
Martine our driver guide was super knowledgeable on both the city and the northern light science. I TOTALLY reccomend a tour with them. If you are in Iqaluit don’t think about it twice and book with these guys.

I only know ours which was $200.00 for a group of up to 4 people. We thoroughly enjoyed it. They have dog sledding too but not sure how much.
