We were first of the season and we did a 1 day excursion around the Broken Group islands with Kevin and his colleague. It was just amazing and very professional. Kevin is a wealth of knowledge, so make sure you ask questions!

If you're thinking about going, do it. I dropped in as a solo for the 5 day trip in August. Guides were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great cooks. Everything was taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed the discussions about history and ecology.

Outstanding day trip on kayaks through the Broken Islands Group. Beautiful surroundings navigating between the islands learning about the rainforests, old growth trees and sea life. Aaron shared his wealth of knowledge and stories about the First Nations people and culture as they had lived on the islands; an unexpected and incredible bonus to the tour. We were staying here as part of our honeymoon trip around Canada, Kevin and the team certainly went above and beyond also giving us tips for local activities. We hope to come back!

I can't say enough about the 5 day Broken Islands trip with Hello Nature. Our guides were Cali and Arron. The beauty of this part of the world is stunning. Cali and Arron made our trip wonderful. They knew the islands very well and were able to show us all the hidden passages and beautiful spots that would be difficult to find if one is not as familiar with the area (tides, places to spot animals, history, indigenous culture, etc.) They easily adapted the trip to the needs of our small group of 5, (two couples and a solo traveler). Our safety and enjoyment was clearly their priority which we appreciated very much. The camping equipment we got from Hello Nature was excellent (tents, cots, pads, chairs). I loved my single kayak. The PFD fit well as well as the skirt. The only thing I would change is to be provided a waterproof paddling jacket instead of a windbreaker. The food that was made for us (we did not participate in cooking and were encouraged to relax and enjoy being spoiled) was wonderful. It was all homemade, fresh ingredients were used. It is a mystery as to how they were able to fit everything including a guitar in small spaces of the kayaks! It was amazing to see that cooking take place in a tiny little kitchen on a beach! The snacks, sauces, etc. were homemade by Alicia, Kevin's wife and were more than delicious. As a beginner kayaker, this is what I learned from my experience: 1. The skirt does not protect you from getting soaked below. Your butt will get wet so dress appropriately. 2. I found that my Keen sandals did not work well for me as paddling shoes as my heels got shafed. I fixed that by squishing my foam pads (provided for drying the cockpit) at the back of my sandals to great enjoyment of my fellow paddlers. 3. Paddling by using all the big muscles as suggested by our guides at the very beginning is actually a very good idea. 4. Broken Islands look beautiful in rain or shine. 5. I did not get seasick in the ocean swell or at any other time and did not need to use any of the many ginger products and other motion sickness remedies that I brought with me. 6. Waterproofing a cell phone is a good idea if you plan to use it as a camera. 7. Stuffing several small drybags into storage compartment is much easier than stuffing one big bag. I highly recommend this trip and this company! Kevin, the owner and one of the guides, was great and very helpful!
