Had a great day fishing with Mark! Kids loved it, came home with 4 beautiful chinook Salmon. Felt safe and well informed before heading out. Mark knew the best spots.

First of all, I have fished the Atlantic and Pacific oceans many times, but do not own my own boat. Very familiar with ocean fishing.
Guide was Mark.
Positives;
- Guide has a big comfortable boat
- Guide is safe
- Guide knows fishing regulations (he should)
- Guide gave us a partial refund
Negatives;
- Guide messed up (dragging too low on the bottom), wrecked downrigger, lost tackle
- poor time management as guide was more concerned about himself, and his 1:00 pm charter, than he was our 5:00 am charter
- Guide was rude and arrogant
- after booking and paying full amount of charter BEFORE getting on his boat, he tells us, catching lots of fish for us is not his thing. He says we hired the wrong guide, as he will enjoy the day, and maybe we will catch a few fish. I HIRED HIM TO CATCH US ALOT OF FISH, and to FISH for us, not take a wildlife tour.
- we caught zero fish, after investing thousands just to get to his boat (flights, hotels, etc.)
- night before we heard from other locals, the guide was a poor fisherman. It was too late for us to change the charter.
- Web page leads you to believe guide is a great fisherman .... NOT the case.
I recommend to others, find another charter, and hire a better guide. DO YOUR RESEARCH, and TALK to other captains at Ucluelet, BEFORE hiring this charter. PLEASE, do yourself a favor. I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER, HIRE THIS CHARTER again.

We booked a 4 hr morning trip, and Mark was very friendly! Nice boat, he was safety oriented but most importantly, we hooked 5 and landed 3 beautiful chinook salmon! Would definitely recommend and book again.

My family and I went on a full day fishing trip with Mark on September 10th, targeting Chinook Salmon. We got out bright and early and hooked onto two fish in the first hour (the second being 35lbs). Mark gave us the choice of continuing to target Chinook or going out to bottom fish. He recommended we stick to Salmon, explaining how the run works and the importance of putting in the time (but was completely okay with either decision). Sticking to salmon paid off and we got 7 Salmon to the boat and more than 10 hits we didn't get to the boat. Pretty fantastic day late in the run! The boat was extremely nice and the gear was in great shape. Mark knows what he is doing!

We have a PHENOMENAL morning on the water with Mark. He was very knowledgeable and so great with our kids. He made the whole experience fun and exciting for everyone. We can’t wait to come back to Ucluelet and fish with Mark again.

We had three adults and three kids in our group, and we had an awesome day on the water. Mark was professional, knowledgeable and great with the kids.
I've been out with several guides, and was really impressed with Mark's boat, his demeanor and with how hard he worked to put us on the salmon. We booked a 6 hour day and bagged 5 beauty chinooks.

Took my wife and two daughters aged 7 and 9 on their first salmon fishing trip. Mark was very professional and was great with my girls, they won’t stop talking about how much they loved fishing with Captain Mark! Marks boat is very comfortable and well equipped with top notch gear, and Mark himself was very well prepared. Will be back next year for sure.

Captain Mark is very safety conscious, takes great care of the people on his boat and makes you feel safe, comfortable and welcome on-board his boat. During admittedly tough fishing we hooked 4 fish and 3 were keepers. Everyone got a chance to reel in a fish and we all had a great time with Captain Mark.
I highly recommend Mark’s Reel Fishing Adventures for anyone wanting a quality, enjoyable fishing trip in Ucluelet.

Knowledgable and personable guide. Salmon baby! Book with Mark if you want to catch some salmon and see the islands around Ucluelet. Doesn’t get any better.
