Overview
More
The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

The trail went along the coast, well maintained trail and very clean. The trees were as interesting along the trail as the pounding surf. It is rated as easy most of the way, but being near retirement age we found it a bit of a...More

What a great trip. We hiked the local trails (well marked). Checked out local pubs and restaurants. This area is so pristine, it reminds me of earlier days. For any locals, they should try to get there every year. For out of towners, they should...More

We were in Tofino for a couple of days and started our visit with a short detour to Ucluelet to hike the Wild Pacific Trail for a few kms. This is a very well maintained trail with absolutely stunning views of the rocky west coast...More

We did the Lighthouse Loop and it was a lovely, easy going walk to enjoy the incredible scenery. The Loop is approximately 2.5km long and took us about an hour with various stops along the way. The path is extremely well marked and flat for...More

The trail was very well groomed with lot's of look out spots and rest spots, areas to hike down to the beach and explore further, we were amazed at every bend, looking forward to going back

We walked a short section of the Wild Pacific Trail. It is beautiful and wonderful. Don't miss an opportunity to walk along the coast.

We walked about 5kms of the trail north from Black Rock Resort. The trail keeps close to the ocean but make sure you take the "artist loop"s if you can. I think they may have stairs so wheel chairs and strollers may have to stay...More

Thank you for recommending the Artist's Loops to others as this section of the Trail provides you with unobstructed ocean views. There are steeper sections and some stairs on the Artist's Loops so we do advise stroller and wheel chair users to use the main...More

Fabulous windy, misty day. Easy to moderate walk. Well maintained crushed gravel trail, with some steepish ups and downs. Incredible rainforest walk with west coast views and a few education stations sprinkled in. I love my wet coast.

We really appreciate that you took the time to share details about your recent walk on the Wild Pacific Trail. We love that you "love the wet coast" especially since it is storm watching season now.

There are several different entrance points and distance options for the trail. We did the area around the lighthouse and then further out of town to the bluffs and anciet cedar loop. Both easy walks and easy to get to. Wonderful scenery, rain or shine!

You bet! We have been there in the winter where we jut pop out on the trail to watch the pounding surf for 10 minutes. Other times we do longer loops. Enjoy!
