The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

Can be a challenge

This trail is well marked with several starting points. It's well maintained but can be a challenge for older adults.

Beautiful, and peaceful. It was a little windy but hey its December and its right by the ocean. We were staying at the Lodge and even though the map said it connects to the trail, it really doesnt. You have to walk down Peninsula Rd to get to the part. Lots of little lookout points to check out the waves... More

There is so much to see on this trail - ocean, trees, boardwalk. It's a great little hike, beautiful views and fresh air.

We took the shortest walk and it took longer than expected because we had to keep stopping to take pictures. This is a place you could keep coming back to, time and time again, and get completely different views/experiences. Probably need a good raincoat when the waves are pounding.

Absolutely amazing west coast scenery. Wild Pacific is exactly right. Well groomed gravel trail, 3-ish km, total. Had a perfect walk, a blue sky day in the rainiest month...if you want to experience BC at it's finest, it does not get much better than here.

Loved this train, was well marked and the views were pretty. The waves crashed loud and did not disappoint. Was a not difficult trail and lots of places to stop and rest and watch the waves and see the lighthouse.

This is a very nice trail for both runners and walkers. Keep your dog on leashes. There are several parking lots, make sure you know which one you are parked in. The views are spectacular, you won't be disappointed. Bring your paint/palette and canvas. Artist loops has great views for painting. It does rain a lot here in November. If... More

We walked this trail on a very wet and windy day; but it was great. The trail was easy to walk, well marked, and had many well placed viewing spots. It took about 1 1/2 hr return. They do a great job in maintaining this trail.

This was my first time walking the Wild Pacific Trail and it won't be my last! We walked the Lighthouse Loop trail ... there's free parking at the starting point of this trail and despite the shorter distance of 2.6 km, make sure you allow a lot of extra time to check out all the incredible viewpoints found along this...
