We have all been to "Tourist Information Centres"... but this one is a "must visit/see". The very scenic (and long-ish) drive will be made much more enjoyable after stopping to speak with the folks there!! If you plan on stopping in the Park they can sell you a "pass" [thereby avoiding an unpleasant, and expensive fine]. I asked one of the very professional staff to recommend a place to Picnic in Ucluelet... and the suggestion and directions made the trip completely worthwhile!! They also have many brochures which could prove to be useful! The "Visitors Centre" has also been awarded TripAdvisor's coveted "Certificate of Excellence"! Its a definite "Must see"!!
I hope that this Review has been helpful!

We stopped at the Visitors centre on arrival in Ucluelet and found them very helpful.
The young girl who served us gave us good advice on what to do and see and on the many walking trails in the area.

Very friendly staff and a good place to visit before exploring Pacific Rim National Park as there are many maps, leaflets and other material to enable you to get the most from your trip. There is also interesting local information and First Nations history.
Located on the main road into Tofino and Ucluelet, it is the first place you come to after the drive through the mountains to the coast - good, clean facilities.

The staff in the centre know the area really well. They provided excellent suggestions on a very rainy day.

This visitor centre is a good place to stop. Especially after training the long winding road of highway number 4. You can use the restroom and obtain a map of the park and the trails. A parking pass is required to stop at any location in the park. If you did not plan ahead and are looking for last minute accommodation. The resorts do send a list of availability. Also see what trails are open as a couple are closed still from last winters wind storm.

Great place to pick up your Ucluelet and Tofino maps and information. Some Canada National Park pins and stickers available. Spotty customer service, but they were overwhelmed.

Got much needed information from people at the counter. Can buy the National Parks Pass for Pacific Rim or the overall pass there. They have a few souvenir items for purchase. Bathrooms were clean. Gave me a small map and tide tables. Very helpful people.

Staff was very helpful in recommending the Rainforest hiking trail which only took 40 minutes to complete. It was fascinating to see old growth trees - cedar, hemlock over 500 years old.

Make this Visitor Center your first stop for Tofino/Ulcluelet information. Easy parking, attractive flower planters, a whale sculpture, & accessible bathrooms gave good first impression. Inside the center staff were ready to help with questions. There were lots of pamphlets available with info. I particularly like the 3D scale model of the Pacific Rim. It gave me a much better understanding of this beautiful area of Vancouver Island.

Hi 416margob,
We do not sell bear spray at the Pacific Rim Visitor Centre. I would recommend purchasing bear spray before you visit the West Coast, as it can be difficult to come by out here.
Thanks!

Are you open all year round and what are your hours.
Thanks

Hi Lynn,
Thank you for the question. We are open year round, and our hours fluctuate throughout the seasons. We are open 7 days a week.
During low season (November - February), we are open from 10am-4pm.
This past summer, our high season hours were 7:30am-7pm. This usually begins in June and ends after the September long weekend.
Shoulder season hours are usually 10am-5pm.
Hope we could answer your question :)
