Can highly recommend hopping on a boat during a heatwave to cool down!!

On our incredible Zodiac tour we were lucky enough to spot (and smell) humpback whales, TWO transient orca pods, a floating napping sealion(!!) and of course the beautiful natural scenery. Jen is a very experienced, knowledgeable and respectful guide. She is also clearly passionate about the well-being of these beautiful sea-creatures, being mindful of their space and future. We were impressed to hear that part the fee went towards community projects on Quadra Island that help to restore and maintain ecological integrity. All of her gear is in great condition (loved the cosy brand new floater suits) and we felt very safe and well looked after.

Thanks for a great morning on the water AND for the homemade cookies and lemonade! A perfect birthday treat :)

Great way to see lots of what beautiful BC has to offer. We are from BC, but made the trip to the island to show the kids what the ocean has to offer. We often take for granted what a beautiful enjoinment we live in & this totally reminded me of why I love living here. There were 4 of us (including my 8 & 12 yr old) The boat was very nice, he had life jackets/warm full body red life suits. I had prepared the kids that there is a chance we might not even get to see anything because we are in the wilderness & have no control of the weather or what the animals. We were so very lucky that we got to see Killer Whales, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, Dall's Porpoises, Sea Lions & Hump Back Whales. I think everyone's favorite was the pod Dolphins. There were a bunch of them, that came right up close & swam around & under the boat. The Humpback Whale sighting was really neat too, because it was jumping up & out of the water & making huge splashes (which the guide said you don't see very often) The Sea Lions, were fishing salmon in the rapids & we got to see one catch one & eat it. The guide was very friendly & knowledgeable. He even provided us with homemade yummy cookies as a snack! All in all, very worth while & we'd do it again!

Hi Chelsea, It is super rare to have a slow day here in the Discovery Islands, and we are so glad that it superseded your expectations! We love it when kids get these kind of encounters, it really fosters a special relationship with nature as they grow up! Please come again, all the best! Jen and Reuben

I am not sure if there are enough words to express how amazing our Tree of Life Tour was with our incredible guide, Jen!

From start to finish my husband and I experienced an adventure/experience of a lifetime! Jen's passion and expertise for her profession was evident from the moment we boarded the boat.

Our trip from Campbell River to Blind Bay Resort was so breathtaking. We couldn't believe how relaxing it was to sit back and take in the smell of the ocean, the smell of the forests and the views.

Once at Blind Bay Resort, Jen took us on a beautiful hike through the rain forest and there she guided us through an experience of forest bathing and we were able to spend time alongside a 900 year old Western Red Cedar. Once back at Blind Bay Resort we had a delicious lunch on their patio and then we were off.

Jen shared that it was a full moon and that she wanted to take us through the high tidal rapids, and they would be running fast. Let me tell you, the rapids are a must if booking a tour!

We saw so much wildlife in their natural habitat. Porpoises swimming by, Stellar Sea Lions basking on the rocks and one feeding on hake, right along side the boat, 20+ Eagles feeding on Hake, and the moment I have always wanted to experience three Humpback Whales feeding and showing us their flukes.

Our tour was longer than advertised and that was such a bonus!

I would highly recommend Wild Waterways Adventures!

Hello, Haha, yes I have changed the length of the Tree of Life adventure officially on the website. I don't think I was home on time even one day from all these trips lol! I am so pleased to hear the Tree of Life adventure is being so well received, it really is my favourite combination and I created this adventure myself. Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful share. We hope to see you again one day. Kind;y, Jen

Cruising through the Yuculta rapids was a first for me. Seeing the eagles perched on the trees waiting for the flood tide to snatch the Hake provided an opportunity for amazing photographs. Learning that the humpback whales travelled from as far away as Hawaii to feed along the west shore of Cortes made me appreciate those amazing creatures even more.

The lunch was excellent! It was made by Jen, the owner and operator of Wild Waterways. It was the best vegetarian wrap I have ever had! I finished lunch off with tea and homemade cookies.

Jen moved us skillfully through some rough waters and provided interpretation about the geography and the history of the vast area that we covered. It was a day that I’ll never forget. I highly recommend it!

Plenty of wildlife to be seen, more eagles than possible to comprehend in the narrows feeding, they put on quite the show, lucky enough to see a couple killer whales, tons of sea lions they are so massive and loud, very cool to see up close jostling and wrestling with each other for the best spot on the rocks. Jen was the tour guide and boat operator her knowledge of the area and answers to any questions that came up were enlightening and appreciated. Would absolutely book again!

I was recommended Wild Wathave erways Adventures and been following along with their experiences on Instagram.

I booked one of their Biggs Orcas and Salish Selaunchg tours which launched out at the Comox Marina.

When I arrived at the marina, Jen greeted me enthusiastically, which was a great way to start a beautiful sunny morning. After the other guests showed up and we donned our red Mustang survival suits, we were on our way!

Throughout the 4-hour tour, Jen was great at explaining what was going on, why the herring are essential, the interaction of other marine wildlife with the herring and more.

She navigated down Baynes Sound, were we hung out with the Herring Fishing boats in the turquoise blue waters produced when Herring are spawning. We had the company of a few Sealions as we checked out the colour water.

Next, we popped over to Norris Rocks, where hundreds of Sealions basked in the sun. After checking them out, we headed to Ford's Cove for a quick lunch snack. After the snack, we ventured along the southern shores of Hornby along Helliwell Provincial Park past Flora Islet and headed across the Salish Sea towards Texada.
We then zigzagged from Texada back to the Comox Marina, while stopping here and there to listen to any Orca sounds with Captin Jen's Hydrophone.

It was a beautiful time on the water, and it was a lot of fun. I hope to book another tour soon!

We took the Bigg's Orca tour, which took us from Comox Harbour down around Denman and Hornby islands. We were blessed with an incredibly beautiful day and we witnessed some of the first of the 2024 herring spawn in the area, which made this trip just outstanding.

During our four-hour trip, we saw thousands of sea birds, dozens of bald eagles fishing from the air or beach, hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of sea lions, and dozens of harbour seals . We got right up close to the shore to see the herring roe on the rocks and seaweed, and we even saw some actual herring.

The icing on the cake was seeing two groups of Bigg's transient orcas travelling together (maybe 8 or 9 in all), and being able to stay near them at a respectful distance for a good long time, watching them as they swam and jumped. Unbelievable.

Our guide was Reuben and he was delightful - he is knowledgable and full of enthusiasm for the wonders of the Salish Sea.

Jen and Rueben made this 4 hour adventure for our family more than I ever could've asked for! What an experience. From orcas to sealions to the eagle show to hot chocolate on the beach... I am still just buzzing from the excitement of something new. Also just being out in nature is such a reset. So, not only did it lift my spirits, my children have been imprinted for their childhood memories. This is something they will take with them their whole lives. Once the tour was coming to a close and we were heading back, the sunshine busted through the clouds. I soaked it in and I felt an overwhelm of gratitude, like a rush of feeling blessed. It brought tears to my eyes. These types of moments stop you right in your tracks and it forces you to realize how incredibly lucky we are to be here right now having this human experience. I cannot thank you two enough and highly recommend this company as your tour guide. You will gain so much more than a tour, you will feel something you haven't felt before.

This was a fantastic experience that will stay with me forever. We went on the Spring Great Bear Adventure last minute (5th June) as our original operator cancelled at late notice. Our guide Reuben was amazing, he guided our boat into really shallow inlets with expert precision many aren’t accessed by the other tours. His passion for the area, wildlife and scenery were clear from the outset and we felt safe throughout due to a really smooth ride. We were rewarded with sightings of a little shy Cinnamon Bear, a few less shy black bears and a Grizzly that came really close to the shore line unexpectedly which resulted in amazing photos. A humpbacked whale on our journey home rounded this tour off perfectly. I would highly recommend the tour and am so grateful to Reuben our guide as he added such a lot to this fantastic experience. NB all of the photos shown were taken with an iPhone!

My partner and I went with friends on the All Time Adventure. We added a customized day trip with fishing and we cooked a whole giant salmon on a beach fire. All I can say is what an amazing trip it was from beginning to end. Our driver and guide Ruben was informative and passionate. He expertly navigated us through the second fastest tidal rapids in the world. Breathtaking and super fun. We watched eagles fish for salmon off the rapids. Words cannot describe how incredible this experience was. On our trip we also spotted many humpback whales, seals, and sea lions. I highly recommend going on the trip of your life with wild waterways. You'll have memories to last a life time and like me you'll be convincing all your friends and family to book a trip with them ASAP.
