We offer world class salmon fishing charters from Quadra Island and Campbell River. The waters surrounding Quadra are known as the Salmon Capital of the World. All five species of salmon can be caught from May thru October. This makes a perfect environment for a successful fishing trip. You will fish in comfort out of a 24ft covered cruiser with marine head (toilet).

Undoubtedly the best guide in Campbell River - great personality to enjoy with a vast experience of the waters and importantly the ‘gear and lures’ to be used on the conditions of the day in respect to how the fish are feeding. And importantly to see the fish landed in the boat - even if we did max out our (salmon) limit in a very short time. And then there was the monsters of those ling cod. And then there were the humpbacks, eagles and the wonderful scenery to be enjoyed.

We fished with Sonny July 2023 and caught big fish all day. After heading over to the mainland and catching two nice keepers right away, and getting to enjoy some of the best scenery ever, we moved back closer to Quadra and pulled in Coho and Chinook all day. Sonny’s local knowledge and expertise made our day massively successful. We’ll come back specifically to fish with Sonny next year.

Best fishing day of our lives. 40 lb salmon which we caught and released. Sonny was incredibly precise with his helpful hints for these two senior fisher persons. He cleaned our two keepers and took them to Campbell River for vacpac. Great guide with a super personality. Thanks, Sonny. Carol & Wayne

Smart fisherman in Campbell River??
Took my family with Sonny the last two summers. Golden memories. Whales, salmon, and tons of marine life. Affordable, Professional, Safe and Super Nice. Sonny Boone is the Best!!!

Sonny is an amazing fishing guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. Knows the waters and where the fish live. High tech equipment and a very comfortable boat. Our group of 4 had an awesome time fishing.

We have been on many many fishing charters in Alaska and really felt lucky to hook up with Sonny. He was personable, funny, knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. We caught our limits +, had so much fun, and loved the lunch barbecues. He kept a spotless boat, took great care of his clients, and was very safety conscious. We plan on returning in the near future.

I had never been out salmon fishing and Sonny got me sorted on all the technical stuff. Soon we caught our first chinook and had to start thinking about taking the fish back home to Europe! I liked how Sonny made this an all inclusive, discussing tactics, lures and places to go. For added excitement ask him to take Sparkie with him!

My wife and I have chartered many a boat in various places around the world and the trip we took with Boonie Charters ranks solidly in our top three. In our experience, captains can make a world of difference. Sure, with fishing there is always luck involved, but there are ways to improve your chances and having a rockstar guide is one such way. We were out on the Saturday of September long weekend so to say we were not the only boat on the water would be a considerable understatement. However, not many of the other boats were having much luck. Guides that were struggling made it a point to swing by and have a chat with Sonny and it was clear who his friends were. Sonny was fishing at depths his competitors were not and with lures and methods they were not. We boated 4 fish that day (3 springs and a wild Coho we had to release) and only saw a handful of other fish be caught. Sonny's enthusiasm and expertise made for an enjoyable and successful experience, the likes of which are rarely matched in our travels. The fact that he shared his smoked salmon recipe with us is a huge plus (that review for another day).

We will be at Camp Homewood from March 3,2017 to March 9,2017 - what kind of fishing is in the area at that time of the year?

Thank you so much for your inquiry about fishing in March. That time of year there are great opportunities for fishing! There are winter steelhead in the rivers and feeder chinook salmon in the Straight of Georgia off Quadra Island. March can be stormy around here, so saltwater fishing is weather permitting.....
