Abseil in through the roof of a cavern used on the reality show, "The Amazing Race", dressed in overalls, helmets and torches. Spend 1.5 - 2 hours on an underground adventure by torchlight with highly experienced and knowledgable guides.

All Wild Cave Adventures sites are within a 40 minute drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage area.

Booking is always necessary to secure a place on an adventure. On booking, final details are sent through with where to meet, what to bring and what to wear to make the trip enjoyable. Excursions run all year round - daytime and early evening twilight tours available where the group come out to a starry sky and optional pizza delivery afterwards.

No previous experience is needed but all adventurers should be able-bodied, reasonably fit and keen to try something different!

Young adventurers, from the age of 8 -16 years of age, are most welcome to join specific adventures that are tailor-made for them at a special price.

What an amazing adventurous birthday for an 8 year old and his friends! The Bat Cave is special because it is not commercialised. The guides were wonderful with the kids. We felt safe throughout the 3 hour adventure and would recommend it to anyone to do at least once.

This is a great cave system. Very good when combined with a tour of nearby nature reserves. Old shaft, so not for the faint at heart, elderly or wheelchairs.

We did the Bat Cave an it is truly an amazing experience. Take your own refreshments for afterwards and shoes with good grip is essential.

Absolutely loved it! The drop down into the cave is just long enough to be meaningful but the climb out and back to the cliff face is short and easy. We all got to abseil down around 7 times and that was just because we were too tired to go again. Would do it again in a heart beat. Really... More

Our guide, Gustav, took care of us and explained everything so well, from the history of the mine to the natural karst cave. Of course he paid great attention to our personal safety needs as priority and still found the time to entertain us with many interesting facts and theories. We got close to nature and had to negotiate a... More

Bat cave adventure. Dawie was our tour guide and he was awesome. He was very informative and extremely helpful. Walking shoes with grips is a must have to avoid slipping and a camera will be helpful.

The guides are knowledgeable, competent and witty. The beauty of the cave is enough on its own, but the company and enthusiasm of the guides really added to the experience. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again!
