We enjoyed our visit to Ilam on a sunny Sunday. We had a lovely walk around the estate and a little look in the NT shop( usual stuff). The toilets are nice and clean and the cafe is the usual NT standard. The village is beautiful and it's only a short walk to Dovedale.

The little village is so pretty with the chalet style houses, and the park is wonderful. The building in it is so grand - and it is actually a YHA place now. The church is pretty, and has some ancient stones. From here you can stroll to Dovedale, and go as far up-river as you like.

It sounds like you explored lots on your visit to Ilam Park and we hope that you'll visit again soon - take in the scent of wild garlic along the river, or see the lambs in the parkland - the seasons always bring something new to Ilam Park. More

Visited for the fourth or fifth time and the views all around are still stunning. A great place for a walk of whatever length suits. At the moment they are advertising volunteer-led walks on Mondays and Fridays at 11 am. This time we lunched inside at the Isaak Walton Hotel rather than outside at Ilam. It would be good if... Our free Monday and Friday walks are a great way to explore the wonderful scenery in the White Peak and each time you visit our tea room or shop, you help to support our conservation work in the Peak District. We love having dogs around Ilam Park, but we recognise that some people are afraid, uncomfortable or have allergies that... More

The bunkhouse was dry, warm, and full of character. The kitchen / dining area was very well equipped, the shower / toilet facilities were excellent, and the three bunk rooms very good. Good value.

Beautiful open spaces and amazing parklands. It is well worth having a stroll through the Italian gardens.

Parking at Ilam Park - national trust so free parking if you have membership. You can park on the road in Ilam for free out of season. Parking fees are reasonable in any case. Lovely grounds to explore and we took on the 1.75 mile walk to Dovedales stepping stones. We took the main route over stiles and across fields... More

Visited with the purpose of joining one of the regular Friday 11.00 am walks. Had hoped to do the three mile walk but felt there was a lack of clarity about how to choose between 2 and 3 mile walk. So ended doing the 2. This was a muddy day- and though no rock climb it was very slippy and... More

Combine visiting here and a walk to dovedale for a picturesque and sociable walk in the country. Already been twice this year but feel like there is lots more to see. FYI: The walk through to davedale tipically gets quite busy so I like to take the footpath looping around to the left which also means I don't end up... More
