Friendly spot, and fun to play, suitable for casual and beginners and challenging for the more advance golfer. Greens are in great shape, and its the warmest place on Galiano Island. We didn't even need a tee time and they picked us up at the Marina for free, we gave them a $10 donation. Food was great and reasonable golf was cheap $35 for 18 holes!

Full disclosure......I am not a golfer. Never have been and probably never will be..But my husband is and I think that gives me a particular expertise from the other side of the game.
We live on Galiano. My husband takes the opportunity to golf whenever he can fit it in around work and home life (and even when it doesn't fit in very well!). And I understand his passion for this particular golf course. It is beautiful. It is expertly maintained. It is a 5 minute drive from our home and a 7 minute drive from the ferry terminal at Sturdies Bay or the Marina at Montague. It is a very friendly course...for both locals and visitors. Price-wise it is beyond reasonable whether you have a membership or you pay green fees for occasional games...the value is high. There is a great clubhouse managed by a crew who look after all manner of everything and offer delicious meals for hungry players and hungry non-players. (!)
My husband has played golf in many countries. He comes from a family of male golfers and the 4 brothers approach golf as a competitive enterprise between them and they too have golfed around the world.
And they all love playing golf at the Galiano golf course! Love it. They have said that it challenges them in "very interesting ways". I think they are referring to some strategically situated tees amongst the forest and a couple of inclines. And the beauty. And the quiet, the peacefulness. And the occasional deer.
I highly recommend playing golf at the Galiano course. It's a superior experience on many levels, for locals and for visitors/tourists. And what I love about it is that you don't have to play golf! If your person or group plays and you don't.....relax on the patio. Bring a book. Have a conversation or two. Eat well. You will have a happy golfer(s) joining you when they're done playing.
On this Trip Advisor site, there are some questions asked before a post can be submitted. For the question "When did you visit" it only allows one month to be clicked, which I did. But the reality is that because of the many months of good weather on the Gulf Islands, a truthful click would have included all 12 months. Truthfully! In the winter months, there is always at least one day a month that my husband is on the course and in the 7-8 months of spring, summer and fall he golfs multiple times each month.

A sporty 9 hole course nestled into the forests is one of the few inland sunny spots and it stays light late here. Summer means can still see your ball at 9pm which makes twilight golf a great deal!
The clubhouse serves hot food and along with local bottled beer and snacks. Great place to watch your favorite PGA tournament on weekends with a Bloody Caesar!

Honestly, it's surprising how good it is- for a little island executive track, the greens roll true and there's a good variety there. Definitely worth bringing a few clubs along with you when you go to the island!

It all started last June after just moving to Galiano Island and enjoying the free golf clinic that I absolutely fell in love with this little course. The clinic helped me figure out what I was doing wrong in my drives and now every shot goes straight down the fairway which is very important on this little course given the challenges on many of the holes. Hole #3 is deceivingly hard but one of my favorite holes and #5 I would say is my favorite hole by far. Watch out for wildlife on the course, the deer just happen to meander through and really don't care that you are trying to tee up on the tee box.
I will be buying a membership here this year for certain and I can't wait to bring visiting friends and family to the course for an afternoon of fun capped off with a great bite to eat and a beverage or two as we watch the sun set over the trees.

With a back drop of giant cedars and firs , this 9/12 hole golf course has some challenging holes and stunning fairways, yet maintains a small town feel with friendly staff and a welcoming club house and patio. How many places have an honour system for green fees , if there is no one at the desk? Don't miss the opportunity to take you back in time, by yourself or with your family or group.

Can someone post the scorecard with yardage for each hole? I'm coming from off Island in a few weeks and only want to bring a few clubs. I emailed the course but looks like the clubhouse is closed for the season.
