My sister and I really enjoyed this tour. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and driven to a spot about 20 minutes from Waterton. It was amazing to see so many stars, constellations and even be able to get a bit of the Milky Way in a photo I took on my phone. They brought a great telescope and we were lucky enough to see some galaxies. I would recommend this tour.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your Night Sky Telescope Tour with us recently! We love to use our telescope to view a number of different deep sky objects, including different galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. Ps. Thank you for sharing those photos for everyone to see!

So glad we went!! Learned so much from our guide, Keith. He was a fountain of knowledge about Waterton, astronomy and the dark sky designation. It was very interesting, educational and great fun!

Thank you so much for the recommendation! :) Waterton Lakes National Park was officially named the world's first transnational International Dark Sky Park by the IDA in 2021, and all of our guides (Keith included) love to share Waterton's dark sky stories.

Highly recommended. Keith’s passion for the night sky is on full display. His knowledge expertise made this a memorable trip for our family. This is a must experience if in or near Waterton Lakes. This was the highlight of our trip.

Thank you so much for this truly amazing review, Mark! It was such a pleasure to take your family out for a Custom/Private Tour! Keith is one of our most-experienced guides and he really does enjoy sharing his home of Waterton Lakes National Park (and the area's dark skies) with everyone. The Custom Tour that you were on ended up being a wonderful evening, and allowed us the opportunity to share the Waterton's night sky with just your family in a personable, and personal environment. We hope you enjoyed our telescope and the recliner stargazing chairs, too! Thanks again!

Incredible tour. Keith and Devin were amazing guides. Very friendly, well spoken and so knowledgeable about so much more than just astronomy (they are happy to talk about all things Waterton National Park). They bring along a telescope to supplement the guided, naked eye observation. To get the most out of it, bring your questions. They want to personalize the tour as much as possible. You can also ask them to train the telescope on anything you want (assuming it’s in the sky/visible at the time) and they even send you photo’s that the telescope takes after the tour is over. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. If you have any interest at all in the night sky it’s a no brainer. Even if you don’t I think these guys could change your mind!

Imagine sitting in a star-gazing chair at a pull-out on a dark and deserted road. The air is crisp, clean, with a light breeze. There is no sound other than the quiet chirping of a frog, and the occasional rustlings of the night. It’s the middle of June in Waterton, yet I’m glad for my thick winter coat, mittens and toque. I am with 11 other people and two guides, but this still feels disconcertingly unfamiliar… like I am an interloper in wildlife territory. Aren’t there bears and cougars out here?

Then I look up.

Oh wow! I haven’t seen this many stars in a long time. Suddenly, I forget to be nervous. Our knowledgeable guides teach us how to identify planes from satellites, asterisms within constellations and so much more. Occasionally, I peer through a telescope only to realize that what I can see is only the tip of the iceberg of stars in this night sky. Time passes quickly. When we finally bundle into the van again, I’m grateful for the warmth but already missing the enveloping dark and beautiful night world I have just had the privilege to experience; one that would otherwise have been too far out of my comfort zone to reach. Thank you DarkSkyGuides, for making this ‘other world’ accessible to city folk like me.

Wow! What a fantastic, descriptive review of your Night Sky Telescope Tour with us earlier this month! Thank you! It was such a pleasure to have you on tour with us, as we love the opportunity to share the Night Sky with visitors to Waterton Lakes National Park. Recognized as the World's first Transnational International Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association in 2021, Waterton offers incredibly dark skies devoid of light pollution - which means this is a great place to go stargazing! And if you live in a city with lots of light pollution Waterton offers a great opportunity to witness something memorable.

We certainly did have amazing conditions for the Night Sky Telescope Tour that night, and we hope you will remember it for a long time to come! Keep Your Eyes on the Skies!

We had a great night out stargazing during May long weekend. It was a bit chilly, and there was some cloud cover in the sky, but we were still able to see a lot of stars and learn a lot of interesting things from our guide. They also provided wonderful warm blankets and were trying to make sure we were all warm and comfy. Great experience!

Thank you Mariya for letting us know you had a great time on your recent Night Sky Telescope Tour! This tour is quickly becoming our most sought after experience, in part because the tour features our impressive Unistellar-brand eVscope2 digital telescope, as well as our comfortable recliner-style stargazing chairs. And yes! For those chilly nights, we do offer nice, warm blankets.

It was a great experience. We were with Keith during our night stroll & star gazing experience. He is very knowledgeable of the outer space. This experience made me reflect deeper and to appreciate the universe more. Thank you for a great experience!

We also like that you lent us some warm blankets and lights. Too bad we didn’t take lots of photos because we were just enjoying the moment!!

We really appreciate you leaving this wonderful review! It was great to have you on the Starry Skies Townsite Stroll Tour with us, and we're so happy to hear that the tour helped you to take a moment to reflect, and to really connect with the universe. After all, part of our Company's mission is to "encourage people to foster their own personal connection with both the night sky and Waterton Lakes National Park." Providing headlamps, and offering warm blankets on chilly nights makes these types of experiences all the more enjoyable!
