Saw a few bison in the distance!!
Jul. 2021
We drove the loop, and were lucky at one point we saw a few bison in the distance. It was a narrow road through some rolling green landscape.

No Bison, No loop, No fun!
Apr. 2021 • Couples
I went before the fires of 2017 and we saw lots of bison. The road was a massive loop, hence the name. I went with my husband yesterday and we saw none. The loop to drive on is now a single short road where even if there was bison you'd be lucky to see any. We didn't check online to see if there was bison, so that is all on us. But the drive was nice.

Hope the bison can return soon

Hate to see the reviews on this location dip. As if it is their fault there was a fire. It is very well advertised that there are no bison as of right now.
Hope that everything works itself out!!

No Bison
May 2019
The staff of the visitor centre informed us that after the wildfire in 2017, they moved almost all the bison to another place. There was still one bison remain but it's difficult to find. We decided to drive for a while and we saw no bison. But the view is beautiful, though

No Bison!!

We stopped at the entry gate to ask for directions to the paddock. We were told it is outside of the park and that at the moment there are no bison in the paddock.

No Bison in the paddock
Jul. 2019 • Friends
Since the forest fire in September 2017, there are no bison in the paddock because they were all relocated. Apparently Parks Canada plans to move bison back in at some point, but probably not in 2019

Not open this year til the vegetation grows more cause of the fires. So if anyone is heading there dont bother. Sucks. Always a treat to see the buffalo.

Road closed closed closed

Drove 3hrs from Calgary on August long weekend and this Red rock pkwy road was closed from hwy #5 due to last year's fire. Do Not go to Waterton national park for a while. Road were closed everywhere due to fire and bear sightings. Parks Canada is overdoing to protect the whole area. The only thing you can do is stay by the lake and village. We only stayed 2 hrs in this area and drove back to Calgary for another 3hrs.

VEry beautiful views of landscapes
Aug. 2017 • Family
We stopped in the Bison Point View close to the Waterton National Park. From here we can see very nice and beautiful views of mountains and surroundings, but we cannot see any bison due to the fires of summer-2017. However, the views are very beautiful and I recommend you a little stop in the place before continuing the travel to Waterton National Park. My child enjoy a lot with the views and the place.

Bison come home
Jul. 2018 • Couples
Absolutely breathtaking location. Due to the wildfires last summer the Bison were moved east for safety. The information center informed that they were waiting for the return of all the vegetation before they bring them back. The road is closed and signs covered up. There is one stubborn bison who is still here but you may not see him. Bring binoculars.
