To get to Brady's Beach you have to catch one of 2 water taxi's across to east Bamfield. $5/person one way. It is about a 40 minute walk up and down gravel roads to get to the beach. The beach was beautiful and worth the walk...but not something I would recommend for anyone with health issues. This was the best part of Bamfield. Take your own lunch and water as there are no services near the beach. Don't forget if you spend the day at the beach you have to make your way back to the dock on east Bamfield to catch the water taxi back to west Bamfield before 5:30pm if you plan to eat at the town's only restaurant that closes at 6pm every night.

This beach is a good walk from Bamfield but a beautiful hike. Easily accessible. Once you get to the beach, there is a lot to see, people camp right on the beach. You can explore the woods, hang out on the beach, look for bear prints, and other animals or just sit back and listen to the waves come in. We saw a boat or two come in from the water so if you prefer to access it by water then that's an option too. The walk/hike to the beach was up and down some hills, a few turns, a little muddy, but well marked, just be prepared.

Tidal pools each have unique critters in them: one with purple urchins, one with green anemones, one with crabs - very cool!

After a ride on a boat taxi. For $10. And a 20 minute walk on a gravel road in the bush with several hills. We got to beach it was nice but very small. Had several large rocks to climb on. Only a couple people there. Was worth the walk. There's nothing else to do in bamfield. Nothing unless you fish

beautiful beach with sea stacks and tidal pools. there is a clean outhouse at one end of the beach and a tap with running water (not sure if it is drinkable but good for washing your hands). If you are walking here you will need to go down a very long steep gravel road. this is not good for seniors or people with a stroller. However if you are staying in one of the lodges, they may give you a ride down and pick you up. bring a picnic lunch and water.

Take a stroll to the beach. You see nearby homes, and the local trees and shrubs. The walk to Brad'y's Beach gives you a feel for the residential area.

Brady's Beach was right out of the Goonies! We loved it. However, we did no research before we left so blindly walked off on this trail, with our dog, without so much as a water bottle. ha ha We only learned of the beach as our neighbouring campers shared their experience with us and told us it was a lovely 20-minute walk. Well, er, that turned out to be an understatement for me as I'm mobility challenged with a bum leg and walk with a limp. It was more of a 45 minute, mostly uphill, hike for me. Ha ha But, so worth it on the other end. We will definitely be back, this time with water bottles and a picnic!

Brady’s beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Vancouver Island. It is a largely sandy beach but with a lot of rocky outcrops and small tree covered islands which are typical of the Pacific west coast. The gradually sloping sands and relatively calm waters made it look very inviting for a swim, but the water was too chilled to dive in.
The beach is about a 25 minute walk from the West Bamfield dock, along a gravel trail which is clearly marked through the forests. You will know you have reached your destination when you see a wooden structure on your left with a board saying ‘Brady Loo’.
The beach was empty at 11 am and it was quite enjoyable to walk from one end to the other like Robinson Crusoe on his wild deserted island. One can spend the day relaxing, swimming, building sand castles or just beach combing. There is a lot of driftwood and seashells lying around on the sands.
Do remember to bring a picnic basket as there are no refreshment stalls or restaurants till you get back to the docks.

can I drive to the beach? Have been there several times and do know there is a road in, but can't find a map or indication of where to access it with gear in my truck
Written September 14, 2016
No, there is a road but vehicles have to be barged across the water.
