We stopped in Powell River for the day. We noticed the boardwalk and stopped for a bit. Great views and you can't really fault any water view. The boardwalk was very clean and well maintained. Nice to just sit down and breathe that sea air. I also noticed all the beautiful homes across the street from the boardwalk. Will have to return to explore more of Powell River.

Checked out the tide pools found some great barnacled rocks, baby crab and snails. Empty oyster and clam shells, red algae and sea weed. Not slippery, but very rocky wear good shoes, Good parking. Not crowded very peaceful. Some hardy folk were swimming but the rocks were everywhere. Log to sit one and a grassy area. Saw some herons. Well thought out public area across from imaginative playground.

We arrived by boat and used the fuel dock, moorage and grocery store and had dinner at the Coastal Kitchen..All were very good.

This is a wonderful harbour to visit with many amenities on site including a new building with washrooms, office and coin showers. A free buss will take you up to main mall. Within walking distance the sea wall, local shopping including an excellent Thai restaurant, pub. Hotel, motel within walking distance, liquor store and marijuana shop.

as a younger man i used too go and fish pearch and shiners at the wharf, even under the ferry ramp we would fish and catch some amazing sized pearch it was fun and boy how the ways of having fun have changed since i was an adolesence.

We drove to Powell River from Kamloops to join friends from Garden Bay for a few days of cruising. The wharfinger provided a marker for our car for the week . The wharf facilities are kept very clean, with nice shower and toilet facilities and lots of advice and information on the area. Well Managed facility.

This hotel has been around for sometime, but has been fairly been well kept up. You get a free basic breakfast or you can use the coupon to reduce the price of a regular breakfast. This place is well central in Powell River and close to a mall. This is a good pivot point to get to many sites to see while there. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Divided in to two segments, north and south harbours...this is a great marina, close to downtown and restaurants and a very good marine store, provides showers, toilets, garbage and free strong wifi. IF ther e is a downside, its the fact that the south showers and toilets are not as modern as the main building facilities....but its not a biggie

We spent three nights on the dock this summer. This is the best government dock I know of; it has a lot of dock space, great washrooms, showers, laundry facilities and excellent friendly reception at the dock with help to moor the boat, and readily available phone and radio contact. The location of the harbor is central to Powell River's main street and there is a walking trail along the shore as well.
