We were so glad we got the tour ticket that included Butchart Garden and the Butterfly Gardens. This was one of the highlights of our trip since the Butchart gardens are rather ho-hum in March. It was nice to be such a cozy warm place on a cool breezy day and enjoy the butterflies fluttering around us. Glad someone told... More

It was an enjoyable visit. There are also birds in there - so there are some nice photographic opportunities. It is a little steamy in there, so you won't need your jacket at all. I would go again, if it was about half the price it was - even with Can$ to US$ conversion.

We stopped here on our return from Butchart and we were disappointed. There was more action by the flamingos and the parrots than by the butterflies. Personally, there weren't that many varieties of butterflies. I'd be here last in 1991 and there hasn't been much change. Now that our own city has a butterfly garden, we felt that this was... More

We saw the most amazing butterflies and moths here. Although it is small, it is packed with interest. Butterflies are always hatching, and they are flying around all over. In addition, they have pelicans, frogs, turtles, tortoises, parrots, and others. We left Buchart Gardens for a hour and then re-entered the gardens to finish our visit there. It was worth... More

Fabulous place to explore the life cycle of butterflies. Lots of other kewl things like flamingos and turtles, You can also just chill and read a book on the benches that are throughout the gardens. Great gift shop. Always new and wonderful things to see and do. As a local, I visit this place often - season pass well worth... More

Our preschooler loves animals and on our family's recent trip to Victoria this was his favorite activity. Yes, there are plenty of butterflies, but there are many other exotic animals too. He loved finding different creatures around every corner -- tropical birds, frogs, tortoises, turtles, flamingos, and an iguana. The facility is small but kept his attention for over 1... More

It took about 1/2 hour to walk thru the butterfly building. They have some big and colorful butterflies, along with parrots, turtles and flamingoes. Great for kids.

Not bad for a quick outing with the children and only 20 minutes from downtown Victoria, but way overpriced. We went through the Gardens in 15 minutes. Spend way more time in the overpriced gift shop.
